Because computer voyeurism is always fun hit shuffle/random in your music folder or ipod or whatever and post the first ten tracks listed. No massaging your results to try to sound more hip or cool than your tracks imply. Feel free to give embarassed "That's only there because..." disclaimers though.

My list:

1. Wheel in the Sky ~ Journey
2. Surrender ~ Elvis Presley
3. Susie Q ~ CCR
4. That's Amore ~ Dean Fucking Martin bitches!
5. Come Running ~ V. Morrison
6. When You Dream ~ BNL
7. Calypso ~ John Denver (I have "Country Roads" too so just STFU)
8. Mercedes Benz ~ Joplin
9. Three Women ~ Domestic Science Club
10 All For Me Grog ~ Louis Killen

Jesus, I like dead artists I guess. Also, considering that at least half of my song collection is c/w I'm surprised that it isn't more represented. And seriously, I didn't d/l the grog song. No earthly clue where it came from. Honestly.

1. Purple Rain ~ Prince
2. Change ~ Blind Melon
3. Blurry ~ Puddle of mudd

7. Mouth for the war ~ Pantera
8. Jeremy ~ Pearl Jam
9. Bring your daughter to the slaughter ~ Iron Maiden
10. Lithium ~ Nirvana

Not in best song order, more like most influential to me, order.

Not in best song order, more like most influential to me, order.

You're not supposed to order them at all. The game is to show the list exactly as it pops up when you random/shuffle all your songs.

Unless that is the ten songs that popped up for you.

edit: not because I dislike staind or grunge rock. I actually think Lewis does a GREAT Layne Staley on the song Layne. -More because Black is already a slow brooding song then they slow it down EVEN MORE. It's like grunge on qualudes.

Also...someone last night just showed me a cool online music site that tailors music to what you like. Some of you guys may know of it already, but if you don't go to www.pandora.com. This site lets you create 'stations' based on artists or songs. It will play music similar to the artist or song that you put in. You can rate music (thumbs up / thumbs down) and it will continue to shift the music to your preference. I've found lotsa cool new stuff on there.

It works amazingly well for finding music in a particular style.

Well, everyone's random ten is cooler than mine. Just fuck you all.Because mine was even more terrible than yours and you know I'm always looking out for you, I'm giving it another try:

1) The Guess Who - No Sugar Tonight / New Mother Nature (that's what I'm talking about)
2) The White Stripes - Blue Orchid (beats all hell out of 3rd-rate Rilo Kiley tunes)
3) The Bobby Hammock Combo - Power House (the Raymond Scott tune, though not a great version)
4) Johnny Cash - Trouble in Mind
5) Big O - Respect (WTF BIG O)
6) Bruce Springsteen - All That Heaven Will Allow (about a 2nd and a halfth tier tune, but it has its merits)
7) Loggins and Melissa - Your Mama Don't Dance (I should really be more selective in my torrent piece selection)
8) Tom Waits - Downtown Train (same as the Bruce)
9) Dukes of Dixieland - Down by the Riverside (downhome version of the old Gospel tune)
10) Steve Miller Band - Jungle Love

Now that's a man's random 10. :smug:

I love seeing the diversity and eclectic'ness of the music in people's library.

If I had to listen to the same genre over and over I'd rather be deaf.

Nice list, thorn. Have you heard Jeff Buckley's cover of Hallelujah? I strongly recommend it.
