So, I'm working on planning a trip to Spain. Sadly, it will be about a year and a half before we actually go.

However, since I believe the planning is as much fun as the actual trip itself, I'm looking to get started.

We can go anytime between the end of May and beginning of August.

Anyone been? Suggestions on what to see/do?

Go to Barcelona.

Resist urge to pack up life and settle there.

Seriously, during that time frame you can't go wrong. The entire coastal area is amazing. Barcelona is a good place to go if you want the city night life, which is excellent with so so beaches (as in quality of the beach itself. It gets an A in my book for all of the smoking hot topless girls). Las Ramblas is pretty much the strip and where to be for the touristy shit. It's pretty rowdy but fuck it. It's Spain.

In the day time there is plenty of shopping and a pretty spectacular Gothic area that should be checked out. I didn't get this far as I was out @ the clubs to 7am and then @ the beach all day. Maybe one day.

If you want to be quiet, then I suggest going to one of the small towns along the coast. If you are there in August I'd try going to Tarragonna during the Festival of the Magi. It's a pretty pimp (quaint) place to go to. Good food, cool people, nice uncrowded beach. and if you like old Roman history you have to go there. (Tarragonna was the Iberian Capital for the Roman Empire and there is a museum and some old ruins).

I went to another place, which is like old sea town or some shit, which was pretty cool as well. A small town kind of place, right on the sea, with mountains and beaches. You can't beat it.

I hear Madrid is cool, but I have no personal knowledge of this.

I really liked Sitges, it had amazing beaches. Barcelona was nice to spend a day in, but laying on a beautiful beach every day and having good food within walking distance was amazing.

I think, it is a beautiful country with the marvelous landscapes and friendly people. I want to move here. Why not, if it is so mild and great to live in? Didn't you think about it?

We were there for 3 months at the time. It's an incredible country, the people are very good-natured, the architecture is just beautiful. Once you arrive, you don't want to leave! x)

She should have been there 14 years ago by this point. You are probably a bot though.
