How in the hell do I do these tasks?? I'm using Gremnity's site. Used all sorts of verb combos and nothing:
[Script]>forage for lily
d100(Open): 87
As you carefully forage around you can find no hint of what you are looking for. You are not even sure it could be found here.
Roundtime: 5 sec.
[Script]>
You feel more refreshed.
[Script]>forage for a dark pink rain lily
d100(Open): 19
You forage around but find nothing of interest.
Roundtime: 7 sec.
[Script]>forage for a dark pink rain lily
d100(Open): 61
As you carefully forage around you can find no hint of what you are looking for. You are not even positive where it may be found.
Roundtime: 6 sec.
Got hundreds of survival and FA ranks.

I don't think you're supposed to use an article, but I may be wrong about that. It's pretty clear that you're not in the right room, though.

Then the website is fucking wrong then. How the hell do I find out where the fuck I can forage for these things then?

The task tells you the area, the bounty part is finding them. A lot of the time what you're looking for will be in a select few rooms and not in the rest of the area, ie. cave moss being found "in Darkstone Castle" but you have to go to certain rooms in roa'ters to get it.

Well I am in the correct location. Plus thanks to Greminity's what now seems to be useless maps, I tried this in about six locations.
Don't do this task, mate. It's a ball-ache almost as much as bodyguarding.

Agreed. I died earlier doing one of those stupid tasks because Gob left some bandits from his own tasks wandering around.

Watch for spelling mistakes too, for a stargazer lily in Vaalor you have to type stargazer lilly.

"As you carefully forage around you can find no hint of what you are looking for. You are not even sure it could be found here.
Roundtime: 5 sec."
This means your syntax is correct, but you're in the wrong room.
"As you carefully forage around you can find no hint of what you are looking for. You are not even positive where it may be found.
Roundtime: 6 sec."
This means your syntax is incorrect, and what you're looking for doesn't exist at all.
That being said, you probably could have used "forage for pink lily" and gotten what you're looking for once you found the correct room. "Forage for lily" might have gotten you a lily, but probably with a random color.
As for Greminity's website, it's still very useful. Blame the person who added the wrong location.

Proper syntax for this is pink rain lily.
If you get the message, "As you carefully forage around you can find no hint of what you are looking for. You are not even positive where it may be found." then the syntax is incorrect.
If you get the message, "As you carefully forage around you can find no hint of what you are looking for. You are not even sure it could be found here." the item doesn't exist in that region.
If you get the message, "As you carefully forage around you find no trace of what you are looking for. You are not even sure it could be found in this type of climate." you've got the right syntax and right region, but wrong climate.
If you get the message, "As you carefully forage around you see no evidence of what you are looking for. You wonder if it could even be found in this terrain." you've got the right syntax, climate, and region, but the terrain isn't right.
Another message if it's the wrong time of day, but I don't think you encounter that one for foraging tasks.
I've never found any errors on Greminity's site.

>forage pink rain lily
d100(Open): 76
You forage briefly and manage to find a dark pink rain lily!
Roundtime: 6 sec.

Yep, it would appear the other two locations just don't work.
Thanks for the confirmation.

Well, I feel like the world's biggest idiot, but I cannot seem to understand how to read the maps on Gremity's site. I can't tell from it what the climate/terrain is, either. My empath (3x FA, 1x survival) has been sent on several forage tasks in the Bog in Vaalor, and sancting and forageing in EVERY room in the Bog, using several different iterations of the syntax, she had NEVER found any one thing there. Ever. Any room. It's so darned discouraging!
<sigh> She hasn't had problems she can't overcome anywhere but the Bog so far, but can't figure out how to tell the climate and terrain, which would help immensely.

I've used Gremity's site like crazy. It r0x0r.
It's only gone from very helpful to plain helpful when a marker is placed in a maze area.

The climate/terrain sensing ability is innate to a Ranger. If you know one old enough, they could sense the areas for you.
Without Gremnity's site, it would be a lot harder to find the herbs. Another method would be to use the .ufs script (I posted an older one in the scripts folder here) along with matching the requirements of the item being foraged with basic room descriptions.
I must say, Gremnity's site FTW.

At one point, I was doing it in OTF (Recording terrains, etc), but my ranger friend was only 72 trains and kept dying when my sancts fell.

I've got an amazing Excell file that I've been using in foraging tasks since the system came out in Plat. I got it from Vyrshkana's player, who received it from the creator (and permission to distribute). I warn you, its huge, but its very useful to me and to the others I have sent it to as well. It won't tell you the EXACT room it is in, but it will tell you the climate/terrain etc (and what area it can be found in) for pretty much every known flora that is foragable in Elanthia.
If anyone wants it, send me an IM at Breelv2, and I'll either file send it or email you with it.

Foraging for leaves and berries and crap is stupid, it should be removed.

Try verb LOCATION in the vicinity as well, that gives you a clue as to climate and terrain.
