It's definitely awe-inspiring, Raven. I hope you get the opportunity to live your dream. :)

I think Skirm has a small hut on the outskirts still.. maybe she'll let you crash on one of her rugs.

Not sure I'd call it a dream just a 'This would be really cool.' kind of thing :) Being surrounded by all that history is pretty neat. Pompei was cool.

No hut! :(
Here is another youtube video from Machu Pichu

If you can, consider walking the Inca Trail instead of taking the train all the way but either way it's pretty darned impressive.
You will be leaving from Cuzco, which has many more other sights to see as well.

That video has some things you may see though I admit that I'm not sure exactly which is which except for the photos of Sacsaywayman.

Pompei is beyond cool! So is Machu Picchu. There are so many places in the world that can inspire awe with their history, and/or their beauty. It kinda makes me wish I could just spend the rest of my life bumming around looking at stuff. Even if I've already seen it, it would still be cool to see it again. :)

I was fully impressed with the roman bathhouse thats fully intact in the town of Bath in England. you are walking where 2000 years ago people once walked around in leisure

Awesome. Raven's pic reminds me of the movie Labyrinth. I don't suppose I could wrangle a guided tour out of you, Skirm?

I never knew really where or what the heck it was till now. :thanx:
I believe there is a campaign to have Machu Picchu deemed one of the wonders of the world.
Never been but relatives who have tell me it is awe inspiring.

I hadn't heard of such a campaign, xtc, but I can surely understand it. Machu Picchu is certainly awe-inspiring and well worth a visit by anyone looking for something unique and fun to do while on vacation. :)

That's a pretty cool list, xtc! I've seen the majority of those, and wouldn't argue with any of them being wonders. :)
