I liked playing ET...
And I have to get Custer's Revenge...
I played SWAT, and yes, it sucked.

How is Super Mario Brothers 2 not on there?
-TheE-
I liked SMB2. It was just too hard.

Was SMB2 the one where you played as Yoshi?

It was the one where you had to root out vegetables to throw at advancing baddies. Awful idea.

That game was awesome.
Battletoads.
I lost hair to that bastard game.

The Japanese SMB2 was actually a lot like the Lost Levels thing they released in America with SMB All-Stars. American SMB2 was a clone of some other Japanese game with Mario faces swapped in because the real thing was deemed to difficult for Americans.

Obviously true, since some people [THE E] couldn't handle easy mode.

Postal Ruled... why did it get honorable mention?
And Battletoads ruled too, that game had me skipping nights of sleep cranked out on mountain dew with my buddies back in middle school.

Hell yes. I can't remember which stage it's on, but the one where you are on a jetski-type machine jumping walls had me red-faced for a damn month.
The other cool thing about Battletoads is you could fight each other at the same time. :)

I thought the best thing about Battletoads was rappeling down the hole, turning into a giant bell and smoking your best friend/brother/whoever you were playing with along with anything else in your way.

There are plenty of games that should have made that list before targeting a game made in 1982...

I liked Postal.
Does anyone remember the 3dO? There was a game called The Horde or something similar OMG that game sucked.

Haha yeah or you could kill those vulture things to get those swords and whack the shit out of them!

That was a pretty cool list.
Worst shitfest I ever played though was Ultima Online.

Tecmo Secret of the Stars is by far the worst game I ever played.
i got Altered Beast for the master system once.
I played it once then went outside to throw it at my friends instead of snowballs.
I'd forgotten about that.
RichardCranium

Altered Beast was awesome. What's wrong with you?

It's not that SMB2 was hard, it's that it was FLAMINGLY GAY...
but, as Seinfeld says, not that there's anything wrong with that...

It wasn't gay, it was awesome in a mushroomey sort of way.
Jon Stewart: Have you ever played SMB2...ON WEED?

Holy shit, yeah I remember doing that... surefire way to REALLY piss off whoever you're playing with. Couldn't you steal each others extra lives too? I remember that being the retaliation for smearing them into the wall.

Yes. Many, MANY brawls over Battletoads.
Anyone remember how extremely frustrating Marble Madness was?

Marble madness pissed me off, I got through so many boards as a kid then the game would always freeze. I think I ended up putting it on my tee and smashing it.
Heh, how about Friday the 13th for frustrating? Hardest game ever.

I remember Friday the 13th. That shit was hard, as was TMNT.

Anybody ever beat Rampage? The original NES one... Me and a friend of mine didn't sleep one night to beat it (we didn't think it could be done...). It was extremely anti-climatic, just like... smashed the last of the US and that was it.
That was a game where you could EASILY piss the hell out of your friends by getting into fights with them.

Ha. I remember Friday the 13th on the Amstrad. It would take like an hour to load (midway through it would also have a random fucking scream). I used to love the midi music which would be randomly interspersed with the same scream as mentioned above. Using the chainsaw (even if it didn't properly kill him) was best.

TMNT was wicked hard. How come they don't make impossible games any more?
Like, for example, the original contra. If you DIDN'T do the 30 lives cheat, there's no way anyone could beat that with only 3 lives.
-TheE-

They made Ikaruga. The most awesome, impossible game of all time.
Farcry wasn't easy either.

Commando was fucking tough.

Heh. My brother actually bought the arcade of Commando to set up in his bachelor pad. It was tough as shit.
He also had an OG Atari Battletank arcade that was sit down mode. That thing was hawt.

It is possible with 3 lives, I have done it. I was in the zone!

Beat it, twice. And the original NES one didn't include Ralph, which is coincidentally the main character's name in any story I write.
