Capped Characters

Anyone got a decent idea of which profession has the most capped characters, which has the least, or any kinda list they think they can throw together top to bottom? Just wondering..saw a post on someone inquiring about capped warriors for sale..Sparked a question..

TON of capped players. Most likely more sorcerers than anything, and less rangers/bards/warriors.

Empaths have the most. Of the characters that have to earn their levels (at least nominally) sorcerers have way more than any other profession.

Any profession that swings with no alternate way of making exp should have the least (Like AestheticDeath mentioned, rangers/bards/warriors). Back with bigger level gaps and no fixskills it wasn't hard to get stuck with no way of earning new exp.

Back in the days before GS had a hard cap, there was a soft cap in place where critters didn't yield exp anymore. So only a few professions could gain levels beyond that, and empaths healing were the most efficient.

I ran a calculation on the capped number of characters from the last fame list I have on Razarn.com and got the following...

There are 148 capped characters of which

10 are bards
17 are clerics
15 are empaths
5 are paladins
13 are rangers
23 are rogues
29 are sorcerers
12 are warriors
24 are wizards

this is of course only those folks that are on the fame lists

Must be an older list. There are 31 capped sorcerers on the list right now.
Still only 15 empaths listed though.

If the fame list is any indicator.. Empaths arent very common at cap.

I am sure we could all come up with a long list of capped characters that arent on the fame list though.

The thing about healing is that it doesn't/didn't give any/much fame. So while they'd have the most experience, they'd have very little fame.

Remember, not everyone in game is on the fame lists. All you have to do is set fame off and then go check in to remove yourself from the list.

If fame was replaced by experience, I'd jump up the list a few places.

I think all those paladins are conversions. I don't know many high level paladins who've played the profession the whole way through.

All professions could gain levels beyond that. The second oldest character at the time was a sorcerer.

The fame lists seperates the cool empaths from the fluff bunny TSC empaths! ;)

To the best of my knowledge Malok was sold awhile back before the GSIII soft cap for around $3000. I'm not sure who is playing him now.

Gemstone IV screwed over a lot of people and I wouldn't be surprised if the original player is never going to look back at GS for entertainment.

Probably because he didn't have any fixskills/reallocation to get him the new skills that were required for new sorcerer spells.

So, with all sorts of new sorcerer spells/skills in the works - if I ever wanted to use them on my 1 and only character, I needed to get additional levels.

I didn't play 234644737314347 different characters. I played 1.

I didn't want to roll up a new one.

I remember getting miffed at Malok for picking in Solhaven when it was new and I was a wee lad there trying to make extra silvers picking while resting from hunting the valley. Yea he would get all the business as a non-rogue picker while I just sat there. pfffffft.

I recently noticed Vrannar has set his off, hiding his 400m+ #1 mage fame.

I will probably hit 100m before Xmas and that may get me to what, 60ish? It's exponential I tell ya!

I kept trying to convince the GMs to LCI me because I had 1 picking rank from 96-GSIV and was always trying to smoothtalk Andraste into how inappopriate my character name was, or something, but intelligently no one would comprende :-\

Varamond and I were always hunting level ~40 undead when I had 235 hit ponts (Giantkin with max CON) and he had something like 20 HP max.
