a brass and gold disk inset with a swirling aetherstone

SHOW:
This glittering disk is small enough to fit comfortably into a human's hand and about as thick as a finger. An exquisite piece of metalsmithing, the disk is crafted of gold and brass intricately engraved with interlocking whorls. A swirling aetherstone is set at the center of the disk, and a ring of gold along the outer rim, inset flush with the body of the disk, appears to be able to rotate to move a narrow window around the circumference. Currently, the text "Ta'Vaalor" shows in the window.

>turn disk
You turn the ring around the edge of the disk, causing its window to shift from "Ta'Vaalor" to "Cysaegir".

>open disk
You open your gold disk, revealing a small, circular indentation within.

>close disk
You close your gold disk, which shuts with a soft click.

When activated:
Forgot to log this. Will update.

When used:
>put ring in my disk
You place the gold ring into your gold disk, but it suddenly pops back into your hand.

The Chronomage travel system lets you buy a ticket for 100k every 48 hours; every ticket purchased afterward inside that window is 300k. So if you wanted to travel to EN from Landing and back within that window, the trip would cost you 400k.

You can buy the ticket from the Chronomage office in your current town for 100k and come straight back once your done with whatever you were there for using the disk; you set it to whatever town, pop in a gold ring, and get the ticket for the return trip.

Alternately, if you just wanted to go to EN for a week, pop in a gold ring and make the trip for free. Then another gold ring on the way back a week later.

The disk could save a two-way traveler up to 15.6m per year.

35m flat; PM, IM, or email.

What does this do exactly?

It creates Chronomage tickets I believe.

Shorthand is you turn it to the desired town, put in a gold ring, rub it, and it creates a torus (ticket) to the desired town.

But you still need to pay? It just shortens the time to 48 hours instead of the week or whatever it is?

Seems nerfed.

You don't pay anything when using this item, except for a gold ring that you put into it, you turn it to what town you want to go to, and you get a ticket.

What he's saying is instead of it costing you 400k from let's say Wehns to Illis roundtrip, it'd cost you 100k. Or, if you stay for a longer period of time, the disk can reset on it's own and you can get yet another free ticket with another gold ring.

Ah, ok, thanks! I am slightly retarded...
