Today I was ripped off. Not only do the GMs allow people to rip others off, but they won't allow you to use names (Vitruvian) in the official boards, and they won't allow you to repremand them by killing, as I was sucked up when I tried it. To me, it seems like they're encouraging people to ripe people off and doing more to protect the bad than the good. On top of that, the GMs were rude to me when we were talking about it, saying how they don't know me so why would hey be nice ( is it just me or am I a customer, of a decade at that, who is catered to by them). It just seems like they don't care about customer satisfaction on bit. Yes it was my fault I got ripped off, but Simu sucks. Never do business with Vitruvian either.

Either way only 1 of 2 customers were going to be happy in this situation after it went wrong, and thats whoever ended up the coin/item/whatever. It just so happened it wasn't you.. but they did make 1 customer happy.

Heh. This is exactly the kind of thing that's warned about all the time. Don't buy anything you don't have the opportunity to test before you pays your money. I think that's probably why the GMs weren't willing to do anything about what happened. You have to take the necessary precautions to ensure that the item you're about to buy is as advertised. If you don't - well, buyer beware. It's been that way, Malvadere.

At least, you'll know to be a lot more careful from now on. Vitruvian isn't the only wannabe rip-off artist out there.

It does seem like the unsolvable problem. NEither party wants to get ripped off, what do you do? If he's an honest seller, he doesn't want to give you his uber armor to get it sung to, if you're the honest buyer, you don't want to buy until you confirm he's selling what he says he's selling. In this case, you should of let him hold the tihng until you found the bard, and have the entire loresinging transaction between him and the bard.

Edited to add: A reliable, well known, third party bard.

I was one level below the requirement to hold it. I asked him to try to give it to me and when I couldn't hold it it would prove the enchantment, but he thought I was just trying to rip him off, so thats when I called the bard.

Well, gee, I've only said I don't care in three of my post so far. You obviously didn't get it though, I really don't care. I never meant for this thread to be a discussion or debate, I just wanted to post one quick warning about the player, and a little complaint on the GMs. You do have one thing right, this is boring, seriosuly, everyone go read s ome other topic/do something else. Flat out, some GMs will help you, some won't. Depending on what the sale was, I dunno. Was it millions upon millions? I know when Tsin fucked me over with the camo cloak, I insisted on being able to check to see if it was really 1x an hour. He told me he could not give me such a high end item to test for the entire hour. And due to the timer only working while you are logged in and have the cloak in yer possession, it really would hav been tough to test it if that was legit.

When I informed GMs that IN GAME he was telling me he was a GM and needed to work on Ebon Gate items, nothing happened to him even though it's stated in the policy you will be locked out for doing such things. Two GMs told him, Tsin, that I reported about it while others really tried to help me.

So, I do sympothize. I know how it feels. What did you end up getting?

Also, dont forget the Abandoned Inn, which isnt abandoned anymore... That crystal still works.

At the least you will get an idea on enchant, and if padding actually exists.

If anything is above 6x, that crystal doesn't do much for you. Nor does it work on enhancives.

To be clear on our POLICY.

1) Scamming is allowed. Theft is allowed. Using game mechanics to cheat is not allowed and can get you locked out.

2) However, just cause I cannot take the item back from the scammer, if the scammer is causing repeated problems, and disrupting the game, I have no problem issuing warnings and/or lockouts as needed.

3) And yes, if someone scams you, kill him or her at will, use the constable, besmirch their reputation.

It IS a buyer-beware world, we don't police commerce, else we'd do nothing but.
