Well, first of all, here's a log of this animated magus absolutely dominating me with Nature's Fury (and ending my hunt). The next log after it involves a GM telling me (and everyone else, I assume) not to animate in the Temple for at LEAST a week. I'm not sure why, however. Just a heads-up.

She appears to be a Half-Elf.
She appears to be very young and very tall. She has sleepy black eyes and fair skin. She has very long, thick red hair divided into several elegantly twisted sections and adorned with some tiny golden oak leaf hairjewels. She has an upturned nose and angular pointed ears.
She has a tattoo of a delicate weeping willow standing guard over a spring brook on her wrist.
She is in good shape.
She is holding a brown backpack in her right hand and a stein of weak brown ale in her left hand.
She is wearing a flowing robe composed of delicate gauzy layers, a verdant silk backpack cinched with a tasseled gold cord, a roomy satchel clasped with a leaf-shaped invar button, a tiny arched invar pin inscribed with the words "Order of the Helping GameHost" adorned with a tiny suspended golden oak leaf charm, a gold star, and a crystalline prism suspended from a braided vaalin chain.

What a nice person she is.
And yeah they need to implement an immense nerfing on the temple creatures that comes in after you've animated them.
That will be the big problem on ''their end''. Heh.

Nice to see that that spell is still broken.

10-31-2006, 09:18 AM
It is too bad that 730 is so buggy. It is a great spell. They need to make Nature's Fury Animate friendly. It was very cool though that the Magnus would hide and snipe from the shadows.

Necromancer
10-31-2006, 09:20 AM
The spell isn't "broken". The issue is that every spell requires a set of code to let it know not to attack a sorcerer who has animated the caster. Prior to the Temple, who would've thought for a second that Nature's Fury would need that code?

Necromancer
10-31-2006, 09:21 AM
Also, JD, I did end up giving Tolli the specs on those crystals, so they know what to replace.

zhelas
10-31-2006, 09:23 AM
True, but Jesse isn't Nature Fury one of the spells that you listed as being non animate friendly as well?

Necromancer
10-31-2006, 09:31 AM
Yes, but there are two sides to not being "animate friendly". In my guide, it's listed as a spell that will target animates when it shouldn't (notice in the log that the animate targetted itself with the spell?), but this is an issue of the spell targetting the necromancer.

I just ran into another fun bug last night: Illoke Jarls will target their caster and their party with their version of 1630. Prior to Jarls, who would ever have thought to include protection for a necromancer in 1630?

Necromancer
10-31-2006, 09:32 AM
And I'll note that even as very buggy, this spell is astounding at higher levels. You haven't lived until you've seen an animated Ithzir Scout with an e-bladed troll sword mop the floor with everything. (they're faster than Janissaries, I highly suggest using the scouts)

AestheticDeath

Do you get experience for things killed by an animate?

Asha
10-31-2006, 10:13 AM
Yes.
Probably as much as if you've killed the critter yourself.

zhelas
10-31-2006, 10:26 AM
In order to get any experience from your animate's kill you have to make sure you damage the foe first before it dies. If the animate kills a creature and you don't wound it in any way, you don't get any experience at all.
