I would hazard at guess that the minimum should be $500.00 US.
I dont see it going beyond the $800.00 range, since the overall utility value is somewhat limited; unless a specific buyer with a high level of disposable income happens to be in the market for such a character/profession.
Its interesting that you're considering such a move...
I've also been considering what I would get for my capped empath since my playing time is becomming less and less as well. Not to mention that the time I do have to play I'd rather work with my rogue or wizard. :(

You know what's kind of depressing?
I got about 8.5M of that EXP, and around 360/372 of those guild ranks. Figuring conservatively (constant 25 exp per pulse) and 2 hours per guild rank...that's 6,000+ hours.
That's five years playing three hours a day.
...and I didn't even play my first, third or fourth year in college.
Yikes.
You guys should both start playing WoW.
I actually liked WoW, and still have my account (on hold). I just dont have the time. Did not have the time when I was playing, and dont see me having the time, anytime soon.
Life, work, and my soon to be 4 year old son occupy my time more and more nowdays. My only respite is of late has been posting here, because I can do it while at work, or when I actually have a moment to myself in the evenings/early mornings.

Yea, that does sound depressing.
I've been playing since 98. I've raised several characters past 50, and Ganalon will be my first cap if I have the time to get him there.
I really dont want to sit down and tally up all the experience I've earned and the time it took to get it in my 8 years; the only thing of comfort is that when I finally push the terminate button I'll be able to get a little money back to buy something cool at Fry's with.

I just dont have the time.
You play GS, WoW's way more friendly to the casual player IMO. Until you hit the raiding wall, anyway.

Thats what I was mostly whining about. I couldnt sit down for 2 to 3 solid hours, uninterupted, to play.
With GS, I can hide/hit a table, restmode, and I can step away. Especially if all I'm doing is grinding OTF or lockmastery reps. Since Emeredan knows I script hunt my wizard, I dont script while afk anymore. :(
Not to mention for now I'm getting a better ROI on GS than I would on WoW with regards to time invested.
This week alone I think I've played a collective 2.5 hours in GS, and its definately not been uninterupted.

Yes. If you don't care about getting any decent gear or if you're in a pug guild or if you don't care about doing any worthwhile raids or if you don't care about PvP rank or if you don't care about actually achieving anything but cap in the game whatsoever.
WoW isn't about the trip to level 60. It's all about what happens when you hit the cap.

Stray is right. While getting to 60 (the first time) can be fun, the game really only starts once you start raiding ZG/BWL/MC. To even stay competitive in BGs (minus AV) you'll need some epics with no green pieces. I was considering trying out the expansion but I am undecided.
To stay on topic, I couldn't imagine a capped Rogue would be on the market for long, especially with capped or close to capped guild skills.

I
I've also been considering what I would get for my capped empath :(
bottom line char prices are in the toilet...capped empaths however are a top sell right now..Good utility value and unbelievable hunters at 100. Top two most wanted char classes that I see are bards and paths, based on the offers that I have seen come in lately.

Thats good to know. Whats the most you've seen one (capped empath) go for?

After bone shatter gets nerfed to hell... far less. no more 6 mana killing sprees.

You speak as if this is truth. Care to provide details?
Note: I use 1106 about 50% of the time as it is. And with over 400 mana, its not that significant to a capped empath.
1110 with 3 cycles and 111 with flares FTW.

And I refer you to the goals list. 1115 will become the higher caliber attack spell, leaving 1106 far less effective at higher levels, and more effective at lower levels. Search the official boards. Estild's name should pop up.
Somehow I dont think this will effect the marketability for a capped empath, especially with their immunity to encumbrance as it relates to attack ability, utility of healing/rescuing/healing down while hunting, and significant power in existing offensive magic.
80 million silver would definately turn my head as an offer.

This same logic applies for any other pure, as well as ranger archers.
utility of healing/rescuing/healing down while hunting
In this aspect, a train 30 empath would work as well. IMO, clerics, wizards, and sorcerers (in some grounds) are better at rescuing than empaths.
I love being able to do all the above, heal others on the fly, or myself, without RT or it interrupting my hunt since I can cast offensive spells with wounds that would normally disable another profession from using spells.
I think empaths have great marketability as an all around pure for hunting, non-hunting exp. gain, and treasure farming.
Allright, I'll stop hijacking Stretch's thread. Thanks for the info folks.

I'm not paying attention in class, so I'll crunch some figures.
IMO, wizards are better utility characters than empaths, for all of their helpful utility spells.
Also, capped clerics are superior utility characters than empaths. Here's a quick breakdown. My cleric is 1xed in blessing lore. Aside from the typical spiritual spells that an empath can cast, he also has several others.
Sustained:
303: +58DS stacked for 4 hours
307: 15AS/+15DS
310: +20DS/+20TD
----------------------------
With running my cleric on a helper script to help my bard:
211: +15AS
215: +25 AS
219: +30 TD/+30 Bolt DS
Tallied up, for the entire duration of a single hunt with my bard, the cleric can offer a total of:
+55AS
+93 Physical & Ranged DS
+50 spirit TD
+123 Bolt DS
This, in addition to all of the other spiritual spells an empath can cast.

capped empath can bring over 1k right now , when all other classes seem to be in the 600 to 800 range. If 1106 does get nerfed I imagine you would see a price drop but not horribly.Utility factor is still there from healing and the big bonus right now is to the adventurers guild via skinning and to a somewhat lesser degree foraging.
On the topic of 1106 ,I do think its an easy spell but its not that uber powerful. I don't see that many 1 hit crits with it even with a 500+ CS even on creatures as lows as 15 in full stance offensive , empty hand and channeling. Helped a buddy with some critters the other day level 12 and I had to cast 1106 twice in almost every instance. And then you get the shatter resitant creatures.

next to last...
On the topic of 1106 ,I do think its an easy spell but its not that uber powerful.
there's a reason why it's getting nerfed. it's a very very potent spell, that costs very very little. I'm quite surprised you aren't getting kills on level 15 (or 12, you mentioned both) creatures, as I've seen too many one shot kills in the rift and OTF alone to believe it.
As far as healing, a train 30 empath can do the job just as well. As far as skinning and foraging in the adventurer's guild, clerics do just as well, and rangers are better at both. If people are willing to fork over 1000 bones for a empath, that's there choice. Personally, I'd rather fork over 1K for a capped bard (as my bard is only halfway there) or locksmith, as those two offer a very real return.
It takes me more casts of 1106 to kill a kobold/rolton than it does an Ithzir cleric/adept/herald.
Level offset/endroll has no bearing on the spell's effectiveness.

That doesnt make sense. My 31 empath kills kobolds/roltons with one cast, no crits. Just pure HP loss. How can a capped empath not do the same?

sshhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! no one needs to know how easy OTF is with boneshatter.
and yes you'll kill a kob with bloodloss but try creatures that have sick amounts of blood for there age and believe me its a different story. I'll put up some posts of level 15 'ish creatures tonight on the recieving end of boneshatter.
and bout buying a bard.. I listed that with the empath as top sellers.. if you can FIND a capped bard for sale get ready to hand over the wallet cause they don't come cheap. The bard I use is around 70 and he makes me an extra million a week just with 1004. Allthough its a tedious boring process even when scripting it.
Back to the topic at hand your rogue will still sell decent due to the fact rogues are just a pop profession to play. And I am sure someone can work out the equations of made money on just being able to pick there own boxes since the amount of rogues around illistim that are available and able to pick OTF boxes are hard to come by in off hours of the day.EDIT- not to mention I'd probably pay some serious coin just for someone to master all the guild skills for me since its the one thing I hate doing more then anything else.
