There are a few scripts in this thread that I have cut and paste in order to advance some young characters while foregoing some of the monotonous. I noticed that several posts were placed regarding errors or scripts that wouldn't run properly for people that presumably used the same script I cut and paste, and are using it correctly.
Well, I wouldn't be posting this if they worked so smoothly for me, so, here is what I found.
The only problem I had with these scripts was when I cut and paste the script into a .cmd file format, the script would never get passed the first match string. After a little troubleshooting, it seems that the problem was a hard return at the end of every line of text that I cut and paste. I guess it was a hard return, I don't know much more about the syntax of the text that is cut and paste. After I deleted every hard return from every line of text within any string of commands, the script worked fine.
I hope this helps some of you that are still working on learning the basics scrpiting.
