Hey everyone,

So I'm looking for a specific type of computer program. I have no idea what it's called, but I'm fairly sure it exists, at least in some form. This type of program would allow you to record things onto your computer with a microphone. Additionally, and this part is important, it would have 20 or so musical insturments built into it, that you could lay out the notes they would play, and then add multiple insturments to eventually build a song. I figure that there is either a program out there that does both, or perhaps two different programs that I could work together. Any ideas? Shareware would be fantastic, but any ideas whatsoever would be highly appreciated.

Well the sound recorder that comes with windows lets you record your mic (heh, and reverse speed up or slow down). As for something to build a song, Fruity Loops works, don't think it has recording capabilities (dont' quote me on that).

I have a friend who occasionally mixes techno tracks, I'll ask him later today (He used to use fruity loops, but not sure what he uses now)

Cakewalk is one, I knew about another one but I forget the name.

You might look here:

They do have free software (Notepad), but the real good stuff is, of course, pay-to-enjoy. ;)
