Huzzah to all the players last week for a well fought battle. This week's matchups are much more even, who will pick the upsets? Ardwen still holds a slight lead to the competition, will this be the week another leads the pack?

Hm. I'm up to 50-24, back into second place after getting unlucky for two weeks in my office. I am terrible against the spread this year, though, and am 29-40-5.

Yikes. I don't know how I got that bad this year. Hm. Anyway, my picks:

New Orleans
Buffalo
Dallas
Baltimore
NYG
Washington
Cincy

Actually, the odds are you'd have a worse winning % if you did send in picks for week 4. Stunseed's week was worse than your current %, and you guys are uncannily similar in terms of pickitude.

Stunseed

Ardwen and I had 2 losses apiece, leaving me still one game behind him. I believe you were 2 games behind me, so 3 out of 1st place tie, 4 to take the lead.

Latrinsorm
10-12-2006, 08:52 PM
RichardCranium is 4th in % of those with 4 or more weeks (.689), 2 correct picks behind Stunseed who is 1 correct pick behind Ardwen who is the equivalent of 1 correct pick behind Xyelin.

Wow. Piss to the poor week so far.

Xyelin: 7-4
Apathy, Augie, Drinin, cakewitharse, Alfster, Atlanteax, Usurper, Eschaton: 6-5
Latrinsorm, RichardCranium, Drew, Sergey: 5-6
Ardwen: 4-7
Stunseed: 2-9 (sorry bro, but honestly, you did pick StL)

Remarks:
Detroit?
Tennessee??
TAMPA BAY????
lol at the Rams being a "sleeper" when they'd lost to SF and barely eked out wins over powerhouses Arizona, Detroit, and Green Bay. They were like the Steve Trachsel of the NFL.

Everyone picked the same for SNF and MNF, so Xyelin wins. I'm honestly not sure which team will look more pathetic, Raiders or Cardinals.

Another week of crap. I've done well (10+ wins) 3 weeks, and done shitty the other 3 (7,8, and possibly 9 wins). At least San Diego won. I almost wish Denver would lose tonight, that would probably knock another 50 people out of the last man standing contest in the pool.

I see my fantasy team is doing its job in bringing up the rear of the PC league, at a whopping 0-5. A few too many, which was another winless team, beat me 125-33 this week. Unless my three players in the CHI-ARI game tonight get...uhhh, 92 points, I'm pretty screwed. Especially since one is my kicker.

Helps when you can actually pick. Also helps that I apparently got put in a league of dumbasses (my RB corp: Edgerrin James, Frank Gore, Shaun Alexander, Brian Westbrook, Steven Jackson. only two RB slots.).

It's a bunch of big names but preformance wise not that impressive this season. Edge 2TDs 3.1YPC, Gore lost goalline carries and had early fumble problems but good for yards, SA obvious, Westbrook good when hes not gimpy, SJax is probably your most consistant RB although until lately lacking in the endzone.

TAKE THAT BITCHES!!!

For the Bears to come back and win on 2 defensive TDs, and a punt return TD, while the offense only mustered a FG (after being inside the 5 yard line) ... despite 6 turnovers by Rex Grossman...

I don't know if the Bears got lucky, as if Fortune smiled upon them, or that the Cardinals just simply had a hot start and then stunk big-time.

.

One way or another... the consensus ought to be that the Cardinals did have the game in the bag, and that the Bears *should* had lost.

I never really liked Matt Leinart, but man. That's a tough one for him. He couldn't have been expected to do better, and his o-line and special teams falls apart on him.

What a scrappy game. At least the Miami-FIU brawl has a bit more news coverage. Did anyone else see Denny Green blowing up at the end of that game in his interview?

Moved to 58-29 on the season in outright picks, and 36-45-6 against the spread. That .666 winning percentage in outright is only good for 4th place in my office league, which is a shame, because I thought I was better than that. I'm horrid at picking against the spread, apparently, but I'm no longer in last place.

I have a problem with fantasy football. It makes me root for teams that I don't want to.

I saw it. It was what you'd expect of a coach who truly expected his team to win and could not stand the disappointment.

I concur.

It was still pretty funny, though, not as good as when Mora used to absolutely explode on camera. I was pretty surprised at the absolute meltdown of their offense (or the absolute step-up by the Bears D).

Latrinsorm
10-17-2006, 12:37 PM
The only real collapse was when Leinart got blindsided. Edge's fumble was a great play by Urlacher more than a miscue on Edge's part.

I just thought of something else though, this loss must be really tough on the Cardinal defense. They hold the juggernaut Bears offense to 3 points... and lose? Ouch.

Atlanteax

I'd say that's Edge's fault. If you watched, he only had one arm on the ball when he attempted to push forward through 5-7 Chicago Bears that he *knew* would be trying to get the ball back.

As a UofMichigan Alumni, I've noticed that Mike Hart, our "stud" RB, will just about always have both arms on the ball if he's going downhill through a pile. Probably a big reason why he has never once had a fumble.

I just thought of something else though, this loss must be really tough on the Cardinal defense. They hold the juggernaut Bears offense to 3 points... and lose? Ouch.

Yet there will be plently of future Bears opponents eagerly studying the tapes to study what worked for the Cardinal D.

Of course, it could be what Dennis Green had been saying all along... do not give up the big play. Chicago does not seem to be able to dink & dunk its way down the field.

For anyone who hasn't seen/heard it, this is classic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDAq5tyfk9E
