An erithian traveller ponders, "I wonder if I remembered to pack everything."
An erithian traveller keeps his eyes fixed on the way ahead.
Speaking to an erithian traveller, you say, "Like I care."
The southern lake bank coalesces slowly in front of the boat, appearing silently through the mist. A wooden dock juts out into the water.
Speaking to an erithian traveller, Gibreficul says, "Don't make me SHUT YOU UP."
Speaking to Gibreficul, you say, "I prefer them to be silent."
You nod to Gibreficul.
Gibreficul ponders.
You say, "Wish I could Pall them."
The elven captain shakes his head and says, "Anyone who wanders around the lake is quite a brave soul. You won't catch me wandering around those swamplands."
With great skill, Byzkit removes one of the chords from his harmony while maintaining the symmetry of those that remain.
The sense of peace and security passes away from the area.
[Lake of Fear, Ferry]
The thick wooden planks of the ferry provide solid footing. Along the center of the ferry, a striped canvas awning provides modest shelter for some rudimentary seating arrangements. Several elven crewmen line the sides of the ferry, each grasping a thick wooden oar. You also see an elven traveller, a green tree frog that is sitting, the Gibreficul disk, an erithian traveller and an elven captain.
Also here: Byzkit, Gibreficul
Obvious paths: none
Gibreficul says, "Bah."
You look at Gibreficul and shake your head.
Byzkit changes his tune, adding a new element to his song...
Byzkit skillfully begins to weave another verse into his harmony.
In response to the soothing melody of Byzkit's song, your surroundings become calm and still.
Speaking to Gibreficul, you say, "Play with your own."
An elven traveller grousingly asks, "Are we getting close?"
An erithian traveller mutters, "Silence is for the weary."
The boat slowly heads towards shore.
You snicker.
Speaking to an erithian traveller, Gibreficul says, "If I wanted lip from you, I'd rip them off."
Byzkit's spirit appears to be lifted by the singing.
Byzkit renews his songs.
Speaking to an erithian traveller, you say, "Then you should practice being weary."
The boat carefully pulls up to the dock.
An elven crewmember picks up an end of a rope and scrambles onto the dock. He quickly and securely ties the rope to one of the pillars on the dock.
An erithian traveller mutters, "Silence is for the weary, and violence is for the weak. Generally speaking, they usually become one and the same after much prattle."
Gibreficul pokes Byzkit in the ribs.
Byzkit sings with renewed vigor!
You snicker.
An erithian traveller hums a simple tune to himself.
Gibreficul nods.
You shake your head at an elven traveller.
An elven crewmember scrambles back onto the boat and lowers the gangplank.
Gibreficul's group just went out. >> Nice script Gibre. I should quit being lazy and write one myself. <<
An elven traveller just went out.
Speaking to an erithian traveller, you ask, "If thats the case, why the hell do you need an escort?"
The sense of peace and security passes away from the area.
[Lake of Fear, South Dock]
Water laps about the pilings that hold up the greying surface of the wooden dock, the only sound to be heard across the dark and eerily silent lake. A thick coil of rope lies at the edge of the dock, waiting for the next boat to arrive. A small wooden sign is tacked to the dock's sturdy railing. You also see a gangplank and a ferry boat.
Obvious paths: south
An erithian traveller arrives, following you.
A green tree frog hops in.
You peer quizzically at an erithian traveller.
The boat's elven captain shouts, "All ashore for Fearling Pass!"
You blow on your ruby.
A faint foggy mist forms over the surface of the ruby then slowly fades away.
You rub the ruby in your hand.
You glance at an erithian traveller.
You shrug.
[Lake of Fear, South Dock]
Greying planks sit just above the surface of the water, meeting boats arriving from across the way and providing access to the rocky shoreline. Under the cloak of evening, the lake resembles a pool of onyx and reflects the night sky in its calm depths. Though still now, there is an eeriness about this place that alludes to a superficial deception. Over a jumble of stones lies the start of a trodden dirt path that curves southward.
Obvious paths: north, south
An erithian traveller arrives, following you.
[Fearling Pass, Rocky Trail]
Dirt pebbled with rounded stones form this pass that concludes at the bank of a lake to the north. A short dock juts out from the rocky shoreline, studded with faded crimson and yellow mooring floats. Though the grade of the climb to the forest towards the south is slight and gradual, the view from this distance is still remarkable.
Obvious paths: north, southeast
A green tree frog hops in.
An erithian traveller arrives, following you.
[Fearling Pass, Rocky Trail]
Meadowlike fields awash with wildflowers stretch in all directions, a symphony of crickets and locusts filling the air with their song. Lakebed rocks occasionally line the trail, an ancient effort to keep the encroaching weeds from overtaking the pass.
Obvious paths: east, southeast, northwest
An erithian traveller arrives, following you.
A green tree frog hops in.
You listen carefully to an erithian traveller. Yup, sounds like an erithian traveller all right.
You say, "Didn't think so."
[Fearling Pass, Rocky Trail]
The incline becomes a bit more challenging as the trail turns slightly and approaches the boundaries of the forest ahead. A boulder or two provides a respite from the climb and a place to camp for the night. Sloping downhill towards the north, the pass heads towards a glimmer of a lake in the distance.
Obvious paths: south, northwest
An erithian traveller arrives, following you.
A green tree frog hops in.
You step on something slippery and fall flat on your face!
You snicker.
Gibreficul's group just arrived.
Gibreficul's group just went northwest.
You stand back up.
Speaking to an erithian traveller, you say, "Boy, I outta."
You gaze in wonder at your surroundings.
You shake your head.
Speaking to yourself, you say, "Get your task done, you can kill him after you get paid."
You nod.
[Fearling Pass, Rocky Trail]
Guelder rose and sarsaparilla bushes crop up in tiny patches along the sides of the pass, the terrain growing a bit more rugged as it approaches the crest of the hill, upon which sits a dark forest. Ahead, the thick growth of deciduous trees stretches southeast, while the trail returns to more open fields to the north.
Obvious paths: north, southeast
An erithian traveller arrives, following you.
A green tree frog hops in.
[Fearling Pass, Rocky Trail]
The brush and other undergrowth here is quite dense as the pass dodges around outcroppings of lichen-covered granite and marble, tiny lizards darting over their mottled surfaces. Off to one side are the ruins of a farmhouse, its crumbling stone walls not much more than piles edging a charred foundation.
Obvious paths: south, northwest
An erithian traveller arrives, following you.
[Fearling Pass, Rocky Trail]
A sudden rise in the landscape and the trail stair-steps up among a small crown of boulders. From this vantage point, the moonlight barely illuminates the surface of the lake off in the distance. Below, the ground slopes down to a steep ravine cut long ago from the ravages of a river.
Obvious paths: north, south
An erithian traveller arrives, following you.
[Fearling Pass, Ravine]
Sharply-inclined sides of dark loamy earth carpeted with creeping vines and thorny bushes skirt the narrow path along the floor of the ravine. A residual trickle of what was once a raging streambed slips lazily around element-worn rocks. Silver beeches and tall oaks, younger than the old growth of the forest that meets the ravine, provide some cover overhead. You also see a reinforced shield.
Obvious paths: north, southeast
An erithian traveller arrives, following you.
A green tree frog hops in.
Skizer just arrived.
Skizer just went north.
An erithian traveller ponders, "I wonder if I remembered to pack everything."
Speaking to an erithian traveller, you say, "I said I didn't care, stop asking the same question."
Speaking to an erithian traveller, you say, "Ok off with you. Remember, silence is golden when around those you ask to protect you."
The green tree frog croaks loudly.
[Ta'Vaalor, Amaranth Bridge]
The thick limestone blocks of the bridge arc across the river, arching higher as they approach the center of the Mistydeep's breadth. Few travellers cross the bridge at this late hour. Those who do hurry along the way, heads down and fleet of foot. You also see a shimmering black portal, a cobbled road leading towards Fearling Pass and a red tent.
Obvious paths: southeast
An erithian traveller just came across a large limestone bridge, following you.
An erithian traveller smiles and says, "Finally, we've arrived. Thank you for your protection. I'm sure the guild will reward you handsomely."
The traveller walks off.
