unfortunately there are people that are never going to get the idea of seperating OOC and IC. Best just to leave them alone.

I don't see anything wrong with her laughing at an ooc comment that you need to make that big a deal out of it. Perhaps you should give more info, all I got from reading that is something wrong with the way she acts.

Argument began with be telling a female dwarf that instead of minding what I was saying, she should go groom her facial hair.
Stoniemeadow whispers to me, asking why I am acting mean towards the dwerf. I tell her the dwerf is an uncouth ball of hair. Her player did not seem to understand that my character was acting as a racist elf towards a dwarf. Rather, she interpreted it as me being a mean towards another player.
The log begins shortly after the above transpired.

Unfortunately she's pretty much quoting the company line. RP?

SHe made a valid point, I wish more people were like her. Instead of drawing out more drama, she made a clean and polite cut.

I think they handled that 100000x better than most people who don't RP.

She was polite about it, that much is irrefutable. She was not remotely as offensive as Warclaidhm, and his antics.
It's not about being an RP Nazi, or crucifying a player for not making an attempt to RP. Rather, it's a prevalent attitude that many players are walking around with:
1) A refusal to read source documents, and assuming that reading any fantasy medieval novel is more than sufficient information to RP with
2) Any insults to the character they play, are taken as personal insults to the player
Though her player seems like a nice person, I can't say much else. Contrary to your statement, I wish there were less people like her playing GS - and more players who cared less about pleasing everyone around them, by ignoring all facets of the game that make individuals unique and separable. These differences can cause conflict, yes, but the resolution or lack of resolution is what makes the RP worthwhile.
A few GM's have stated this quite candidly before - GS is a RP game. Those who treat it like a therapy friends network aren;t doing themselves, or anyone else any good.

Mountain out of molehill alert. Let people get on with the game they pay for, if they're being grossly OOC then report and let a GM deal with it. Her giving a chuckle after an OOC comment is hardly a big deal.

The original post was not about a chuckle following an OOC whisper. And I refer you to post 8 - viewing RP'ed racist acts as insults to the player and not the character can cause conflict. Again, not that big a deal. You are correct. However, it does pose as roadblock of sorts, when a player internalizes all the actions against their character in an IC setting.

First you say this.
...It's not about being an RP Nazi, or crucifying a player for not making an attempt to RP...
But then you say this.
...1) A refusal to read source documents, and assuming that reading any fantasy medieval novel is more than sufficient information to RP with...
Sounds elitist to me. I can competently roleplay any race and profession and I've barely skimmed the official documents. Implying that we who do not choose to pore over every item ever written for the world of Elanthia are not as capable a roleplayer as someone who comes off as being a RP Nazi.
...2) Any insults to the character they play, are taken as personal insults to the player...
This is common practice and the major reason I do not actively seek out roleplay.
..Those who treat it like a therapy friends network aren;t doing themselves, or anyone else any good.
Again with the high horse bit. Just let people play however they want to and react accordingly and then move on. You'll save yourself a lot frustration.

If someone got pissed at me for using a laugh command because of something they OOC-whispered to me, I would promptly never talk to them again because they must be fucking retarded.

Nowhere did I mention someone should read through every bit of Elanthian history. However, to suggest that you can competently do something without having any knowledge of history prior is doubtful, at best, in any task, because you are relying upon knowledge from out of game sources that do not necessarily translate to the setting in the game.
It's fine if you think I'm being elitist. I enjoy RP, and my character had a decent exchange last night with a dwarf named Grunthur. it was a good time.

Where in the log did I get pissed... ? I simply asked why.

I can sympathize, I hate when I give someone a comment OOCly that they grin or whisper at Hadya. Hadya would never say it the whisper isn't Hadya's it's mine.
Agreed though, a lot of people think when I roleplay Hadya, I the player am being mean. Which isn't the case, it's Hadya.
It's something I think I'll probably forever run across.
I mean if she doesn't know by know that Elves, most are racist, then she never will, she's been around a year or so, maybe more. Most people don't read the documentation, they just hop into a character and play it.

Please, just STFU already. If you were interested in RP, two warning signs are , her character is named STONIEMEADOW, and two, her character is named STONIEMEADOW.

Let people get on with the game they pay forIf a spectator at a baseball game decided to waltz onto the field during the game, I'm pretty confident they would not be allowed to do so even though they paid for their ticket just like everyone else. An exchange of money isn't a license to do whatever you want, and I'm pretty sure everyone agrees with that. From there it's just a question of degree; should we only care if someone is "grossly" OOC or just medium-OOC? I'd say if we have any respect for ourselves or the game we wouldn't set the bar as low as possible.
I don't think the claim was that people who don't read the documents are inherently bad roleplayers, I think the idea is that no matter how good a roleplayer you are, if you don't know the background you're working with, you probably won't produce very good roleplay. There's nothing inherent or deducible that suggests halflings won't like Ardenai elves; it's purely a matter of history.

Don't be an idiot. There are rules. Policy. It isn't policy to RP. It is against policy to disrupt the gaming of someone else. If they are being blatantly OOC, as Miss X suggessted, they will get seen to by the GMs. Likewise, if someone charges the field at a baseball game, disrupting that policy, they will be turfed out as well.

Plz, stop being fucking stupid.
There's a whole lot you can do at a baseball game, that isn't watching baseball short of waltzing out on the middle of the field and fucking it up for everyone else.
The same thing can be said for GS.

There are some folls with bad names that have been known to RP quite well. The first name that comes to mind is Stunseed. I have not interacted with him, but what I have heard is quite positive.
Though after laughing about your comment.... Silversoft and Sweetsugars come to mind. Come to think of it, they are all empaths, including the one this post was about.

Empaths aren't capable of RPing. Everyone knows that. They sit in TSC healing people and saying things like "Teehee!" all day while eating bon bons at their desk watching their soaps or Richard Simmons infomercials.

My empath has a bad name and I roleplay quite well. Break the stereotype, I say!
