All the kobolds have their pros and cons, and really picking a favorite without examining these is downright stupid at best.

The first thing that must be considered is size. Bigger is better, right? I imagine the kobold shepherds are the largest, with mongrel kobolds closely following behind, then big ugly kobolds, then regular kobolds. So ranking them by size, kobold shepherds are the best.

The next thing that should be considered is behavior. Obviously regular kobolds win here, because they've read Hamlet enough to quote it. They also realize that they have an unfair advantage over most players, so they do their best to make things sporting by attacking themselves. Some dishonored kobolds, upon not being able to find lewt for their bags, have been known to commit a sepuku-like ritual suicide. Hamlet, in concordance with a deep sense of honor clearly make this a win for regular kobolds. Following them are the big ugly kobolds because being both big and ugly means bearing two distinct social stigmas. Then the kobold shepherds, as raising sheep is an honorable occupation, indeed one which western society is really based upon. Then the mongrel kobolds, because really they just suck.

Lastly, we should examine uniqueness. While obviously every kobold is not unique, every type is certainly distinct from the others. Kobold shepherds come in first in the uniqueness catagory - there are, after all, no other shepherd mobs. Following closely are big ugly kobolds - while there are no other mobs named 'big ugly x', there are quite certainly a great number that are big ugly xs vis-a-vis your average, run of the mill monster. Mongrel kobolds come in at third, with regular kobolds coming in last.

After carefully examining these catagories, I can only conclude that kobold shepherds are my favorite kobolds.

Kobolds have better work ethic then some of my co-workers. Look at that dirt mine they've managed to construct.. Now that took teamwork.
