Anyone got the specs on these things . . . ?
3x a day put coinage in it or something.
How much are they worth and is anyone willing to sell one?

Neimanz was selling one last I heard of. I think there is a 5k limit on them 3 times per day. They're pretty neat, but not extremely useful due to the 15k per day limit on them.
I think he wanted around 25m for his. There's only 3 in existence I believe.

They just hold 15k per day? Up to what limit?

So, it's major use seems like the rift.
It would take 1667 days, or roughly 4.56 years, before that would pay off.

That's exactly what I was thinking. 150k would make it worth something to me.. but still not as much as it is currently.

Yah I really wanted one of them before we found out the limit is 5K in coins, 3x's a day (totalling 15K). That makes its use significantly less.

They werent always limited like this were they? Were they nerfed?
Jolena

Nope, they have been limited this way from the sale of them. Its just that none of us realized the limitations when they were bought.

Yeah, they were nerfed...outta tha gate, like several of the other baubles there. The EG Auction with only 500 Premium Points for a consolation prize should be interesting.

That would lean towards better items being given in the raffle.

Are we talking about the same items? I think perhaps this is another item similar to the one I am thinking of..
One I remember used like a gold wand to melt the coins or something? Maybe called a smelter?
Jolena

Nope that's not what we are speaking of. This is a gnome bank, and you just drop the coins into the bank and pull the lever, where it automatically transfers up to 5K, 3x's a day, to the nearest bank.

Oooh. Neat idea. Just absurd limits.

That item would let you smelt up to 10k in coins at a time, using a couple charges from a gold wand to do so. The silver slab you got as a result would be worth 75% of the amount of coins you smelted at a gem shop, which can be increased through trading skill. Supposedly it is/was possible with enough trading skill to get more than a 100% return on a slab. i.e. a 10k slab (worth 7500 base) could be sold to a vendor for more than 10k silver. I used to have one but my trade skill wasn't high enough to test it. There's no cooldown on the item either. As long as you have a gold wand with charges in it in the smelter, you can smelt all the coins you like. The slab weighs less than 2 pounds. Was great for the rift.

<<Supposedly it is/was possible with enough trading skill to get more than a 100% return on a slab.>>
You'd need to increase the price by 33%... that's slightly under 400 skill/300 ranks without any racial modifier and not accounting for influence bonus. It'd probably be possible as like an elf in Ta'Illistim or something, but impossible for some races.

It's the coin hand you all desire! Good luck with that...

They really need to upgrade the coin pouches that were released and let them hold like 5k in coins at the least. Hell it takes that much to go to and from Landing and Ta'Illistim.
There's so many neat items like that which would not be unbalancing if they tweaked them all across the board. I mean, just how bad WOULD it be to let people carry 5k in coins?

You could get those coin pouches deepened, just FYI. Not sure anymore with scripting policy, but I know for a fact you could...

The really should if not for any reason other than inflation over the past 10 years.

Deepened to hold more silvers? I've never seen that done before. I thought when Elbrion wrote the script for it, he specificially had to keep it at 1k in order for it to be approved and there couldn't be anything higher.
A slave wizard, perma invis in the rift is the cheapest bank around.
Either that, or a coma character in the SW, SE cavern.
Add to the list of things about the Rift that makes us sick, but you'd not have to leave your coins or buy a shity 15k bank.
That 15k limit is a huge, laughable waste of everyones time.
5k 3x a day will not even cover the loose coins I bring out of OTF per hunt.
I wish I had more time to hunt more than 3x per day though. :(

Actually, they are feeling butt sore because so many individuals turned in their items for the 2500 PP's at the FP, and they want you to take the items they created instead of the PP's.
I do not see the items being any better, and in fact I am sure we will see alot of the FP items at EG with a few new additions.
Finis
Perhaps they need an in-game economist to advise them on the relative resale market values of reselling pp's vs. auction item values on the resale/silver equivalancy market.
I can think of a few who would do it for a 'small' fee.

He released a coin pouch at the last EG and posted that they could be deepened slightly. Or maybe I'm a fucking idiot and imagined that, I dunno, I swear they could though.
But I think Elbrion is on a LOA, I haven't seen him in forever :'(

Well it was posted on the plat boards he was gone, didn't say for good. Sucks though, he was a really great GM.

And you're just overweight.
+1.
Vulva - a number of us have suspicions as to why he may have left/been removed. I'm not going to begin a shit storm of allegation, however.

Yeah Elbrion was a great GM, he liked to have fun with people. I remember when "the kobolds got in west tower and launched a ballista into town, ironically hitting me"
