Everything has been dissapointing. Shops from last year, the new stuff is overpriced, the games have HORRIBLE odds, the merchants have been nothing but assholes. I'm pretty pissed. It's been one dissapointment after another. And now i'm pissed because this merchant is doing room order and I crashed from the game and she made me just be at the end of the line.

It's just sorta making me realize how shitty people are treated for how much they pay for this game. I mean, I've been premium for a lil over a year.. I've gotton one alteration from a premium merchant.. I get some extra locker space.. as far as standard merchants I hardly ever get to attend them. And I really go out of my way for festivals... And to just think that they can't be as customer friendly as to go out of their way to copy and paste a list of people in the room so paying customers don't loose their spots.. That's pretty damn shitty. I've seen ALOT of people upset at merchants for doing things the way they have been doing them over the weekend.

I've only attended a handful of ticketed events. In addition I have paid premium since the move.

I have exactly, 6 alterations now and I believe it took me well over 40 hours total to get those (not counting the annual premium alterations... that SUCK DONKEY SCHLONG!).

The last Ebon's Gate was the end of it all. I just grew sick of merchant hounds walking out of festivals with 5-20 alterations under their belts, and me with squat.

I purchased the Ebon's gate ticket the day before the gate opened. After the first 4 hours of buying crap, playing crap games for crap prizes, getting blurred vision and headaches due to the massive crap screen scroll caused by shit-for-brains people and the crap questions asked by slack-jawed booger-eating morons that don't know what the hell on-line documentation is for, I grew very stubborn and dug in for the long haul in hopes of getting at least ONE alteration, no matter what it was. I got zilch. I waited, I sat in room order, and I even lowered myself to open the log on screen and highlight every fucking GM and merchant name.

Well, they announced that the gates would remain open after the weekend, but there would not be any more merchants doing work unless they had a previous list.

Fuck that. I stuffed every last thing I bought at the festival into a locker, I assisted to lodge my complaint in hopes that a GM would have some pity and maybe do something to make the cash lost somewhat worth it. That was shot down within 10 minutes of the assist, so then I assisted again and demanded they take everything back and refund the silver. That was shot down. I wrote Melissa, Feedback, and billing, demanding either A) service or B) refund. In a polite, yet shitty manner, they said fuck off. I said fuck you and called Amex and disputed the charges on the grounds of services not rendered. After I confirmed the charge reversal, I assisted again and explained what I did, why they weren't getting the money, and again requested a refund of the silver, and take back all that crap in the locker. They still wouldn't budge. So I sold some of the higher end items to get back my silver, plus about a 1.5 mill and the rest just sits in lockers as a reminder why I will NEVER purchase an event ticket again.

Sorry, that's long winded and poorly structured, but looking in the contents of just the Trace locker pisses me off. I should have charged them my hourly rate for inconvenience.

I find it amusing that merchants are doing room order in Prime...and in Plat (where there are smaller crowds) they (atleast most of the ones I went to) were using a spinner...heh.

I've only recieved one feature and one standard alteration, and it more than made up for the 30 something I paid for it.

I don't go to Ebon Gate for the alters, I go because it's a fun event and the GM's who designed it did a really good job setting the atmosphere of the festival. The ghosts, the different shops, the tunnel of terror is always fun. It's just a cool event.

Halloween is always the best holiday and my favorite event is always Ebon Gate.

The irony is, I've been out alot, had a good 9 hour sleep, had a date last night, and going to a gig tonight. Still, in comparison to the Artisan's Faire... "Worst festival ever", in the words of Comic Boom Store Guy from Simpsons.

I'm usually pretty good at getting a good amount of services done but this time all the merchant restrictions have prevented me to do so. Enchanter not working on my weapon, alterer not working for liabo cleric etc.

Our group performed a play at Elvaria's. After the play she said we were welcome to join the group she would sew for. We said we'd go to town to get out of our costumes and get the stuff we want worked on and be right back. 5 minutes later me and a few other actors are there at her place. The room is already closed off. Another actor reported to tell her that we were back from town and wished to join the group. Her reply was: "You were welcome to join the group but chose not to. Try again tomorrow." I was shocked as it is very unlike Kyalia to do something like that, especially after we told her we just needed to go get changed first. This was another disappointment. We worked hard to put a play together. She alters for the entire audience while most of the actors are locked out...

I guess she didn't like the play then, eh? :D But I'm sure it was magnificent. :)

We didn't put the play together for rewards. We did it for fun and it was (until the warblade incident, refer to Queshu thread). We got to choose from a list of decent items (nothing spectacular) which was cool. All I was hoping for was a fair chance to get some work done. At least as good a chance as an audience member and that's why I was disappointed.

Ive had a good time, I got a few things done. Feature alter, tattoo, leathers altered, a censor done by Verrath, and a bracelet engraved. I'm bought tons of nice stuff too!
Most of my stuff was done by merchants doing room order so I had to wait around a lot, but it was worth it.

The Festival has been a blast so far. Lady Bone's maze was rather awesome and just getting to all the shops was fun but making it to the end was better. I've had some wonderful times with the Merchants and the Play was just downright funny watching us all run around like chickens without our heads. Money well spent in my mind.... but then I'm not an alter whore I just get em if I can.

i guess im one of the few people who doesn't sign up for festivals because they don't like screen scroll and scripted crap .. if they sold things that were functionally useful to me at any of these fests i might actually go

I just think pay events are fundamentally wrong. It's one step closer to paying for EXP.

Heh To make that funnier, at one of the last merchants before I left Plat, the merchant was doing room order, as was often done back then, and some new one to Plat rudely informed her, "That isnt how we do it here, we do spinners!" I had to laugh

I don't go because I dislike Simu as a company. Jenisi is right, they do whatever they can to get your money (even at the expense of ruining the game with character transfers) and then once they do get the money, they treat you like shit.

can you still get to the gate or is it locked?

I didnt see the Dhe'nari shop on the list of merchants/goods. I truly enjoyed the last Ebon Gate because of that single store. Dissapointing that they decided to remove the area, it was very well done.

It is not character transfers that have ruined the game.

It is allowing transfers that everyone knows is a sale.

There are also things that I could tell you about that I know you would say dont happen but they do daily. I am currently unable to provide this information but if LOTR online is not so horrible I yell at my monitor I will tell you in 05 when I get back from Iraq

I did too. And if you dislike Simu as a company....why the heck are you paying them renewals?

Kurili

THAT is a very good question, Warriorbird. While I dont agree with a lot of Simu's actions and decisions, I dont have any ill will toward them. I do think they'd profit greatly by hiring someone who specializes in Business/Public Relations to assist the computer people in building goodwill and customer loyalty.

But I dont see that happenning, so we either shrug it off, or quit playing.
