As long we're all giving our wishlists...

I'm wishing for an illthorn/lor/fireleaf/glowbark runestaff.

I saw that, but it's a staff, not a runestaff.

You can always get it altered at Ebons.

They're still doing the conversions?

Ah, it doesn't have to say "runestaff" for it to function as a runestaff. Using the INSPECT verb will show you if it's a "modified runestaff". I think the acceptable nouns are runestaff, rune staff, runestave, staff. I think that's it anyway.

Here's a cheap lor runestaff:

I sold Gob the runestaff for just a tad under that price.

Fair deal.

100 mil is a fair price for a lor runestaff? Didn't an illthorn go for around 4 million just a month or two ago?

I bought the fireleaf staff, turned out to be a runestaff. Maybe a bit overpriced, but I loved the show on it. Now that lor shit, that's grossly overpriced.

I dunno, how many Lor runestaves do you see IG?

I believe the count is up to 4 or 5 now.

Definitely worth 100m if you ask me.

You tap an engraved fireleaf runestaff

The fireleaf of this staff has been charred, so that the original color of the wood is nearly indistinguishable. Carefully engraved onto the staff are tenets of the faith of Onar, the words having been inlaid with pieces of stark white bone. Between each sentence is a finely carved broken skull, the eyes set with tiny garnets that glitter in a menacing fashion when struck by light. Polished black ora caps the staff. You also notice a small enchanter's glyph.

If I remember correctly, it is 7X. I was bored when they were doing converstions and tossed a shield and something else on the table. Got it altered sometime later. Don't know if I'll ever sell it...always intended to use it but never got around to it.

Actually there are several lor runestaffs, they just don't get out very much. They were accidently sold off the shelf and not all of them got recovered. They have been three or so boxfounds and then Kyrill raffled off one each run of the Wavedancer.

I only know of three or four illthorn runestaffs and a collection of about ten-fifteen glowbark. Fireleaf tends to be the least rare.

Hope this helps.

Building on what was just said, I would guess there are between about 7 and 10 lor runestaves out there.

Mine was a boxfound. I know of at least 2 other boxfounds outside of that. I wouldn't be surprised if I missed a couple there - those are impossible to track unless someone speaks up. The ones sold off the shelf were on Teras. I'm not sure that any were recovered as very few were sold before it was caught (probably less than five - I know of at least 2 for sure.) They weren't raffled on every run of the wavedancer (some had illthorn instead)... but were on at least a couple. I seem to recall one at the Erithian raffles with the katana release (feel free to correct me on that) and there was definitely one raffled off by a runestaff merchant at Anfelt.

Bottom line is it's extremely difficult to justify 100 mil for a PURE fluff material that provides no mechanical advantages at all. 100 mil will buy you plenty other godly items like weightless sacks.

I guess one man's fluff is another man's godly or however that old adage goes.
