How would I check to see if it's blank? Look at it? Won't that take my picture if it isn't blank?

Yes, look at it. No, it won't take your picture. If you're super-scared that it will, SHOW it to someone else (preferably the buyer).

I think I wasted my last one like that. Oh gee, look at the locket. It opens. I'll stand here in my locker and open it to see what happens. Dammit.

It's actually impossible to tell if they're used if the locket is closed, which they can be after they've been used to capture a picture. Most people tend to leave them open though, afterward. You could always look on playershops.com for a used one that has similar features.

Last one I payed for was a rune-etched veniom locket and it cost me 50k from playershops. They almost always come out with them in one form or another during Ebon Gate.

I've never seen/heard of one of these items -- can someone post a log of what happens when it 'takes your picture'?

If you hold the locket in your left hand and open it, your picture will not be taken as far as I'm aware.

The EG before last had picture lockets that were Arkati themed. I bought a ton of them and tried out each one to see what it looked like, so I could sell the unused ones with the right information. They had some of the neatest backgrounds based on what Arkati the locket represented. Good stuff.
