View Full Version : Old Thread Made New (Captain, Khaladon, etc).

I was on the boat to Vaalor today, and I noted that you can no longer attack the captain (and it's sancted). Someone asked why, and I said it was probably due to my killing of the captain. A few people requested the log, but when I came here to show them, the original version is mucked up (due to the change to these new boards, I reckon). Instead of bumping the thread and having people say, "WORST BUMP EVER!11111111" I'm just going to repost it.

Most of you have probably read this already, so just ignore it, etc.

I reported and asked why the gear couldn’t be picked up…

SEND[Khaladon] looks like meant for the captain only, and searching NPCs to strip them of their gear just adds work to the GMs which really isn't needed

Khaladon seemed like an unhappy camper today! But he’d get his revenge…

The thick wooden planks of the ferry provide solid footing. Along the center of the ferry, wooden railings have been fitted with a row of long planks for rudimentary seating arrangements. Several elven crewmen line the sides of the ferry, each grasping a thick wooden oar. You also see an aquamarine gem, a spiderweb turquoise, a piece of white marble, a green errisian topaz and an elven captain.

Water laps about the pilings that hold up the greying surface of the wooden dock, the only sound to be heard across the dark and eerily silent lake. You used to be able to, at least, kill town NPCs; the constable, the shaggy mutt, the fortuneteller, etc.

There was/is a system in place that would charge you with an obvious murder/assault charge, and on the same token if you had killed the NPC, a cleric would show up with some weird weird little boy begging for the dead NPC to be rezzed.

As it stands, you can't even steal from the Dwarven trader anymore. Bupkiss! :(

When Tamral goes Postal like UPS, it shall be attributed to GemStone IV’s coding of losing the ability to smite down the lost kitten with great laptop smashing vengeance.

An elven captain shows Dracidjed the longsword. Truly, its the ugliest weapon ever created.

Jenovadeath gestures at an elven captain.
As Jenovadeath gestures at captain, he disrupts his spellcasting.

As usual, they turn on god mode for any type of "RP" encounter.

Other than that it was a fun read, though I'm sure the GM had a good wank after.

I don't think I'd be too proud of "..."

I'm not, admittedly. I do tend to say it a lot, though. I picked up the habit from RPG's such as Final Fantasy, Xenosaga, Vandal Hearts, etc. The characters always say, "..." a lot. If it's acceptable in a video game, I assumed it would be okay in GS. Apparently, however, it's not!

Not to mention SHM's avatar... (when I read his post it was at that part). They need a speechless, unrespond, hesitate or dumbfound emote, something to convey "I heard you but no words fill my response."
