Greetings,
Having mastered cobbling a bit ago, I'd like to offer my services to make custom shoes to your specifications (within the limit of the system, of course). Those who are interested in a pair of shoes may contact me by e-mail at nilandia (at) sovyn (dot) com or AIM at LadyNilandia. Prices are negotiable depending on the request.
It should be noted that the cobbling system is remarkably flexible in what can be made. To give an idea of what can be made, I have made "some striking mithglin-toed dark panther pelt boots" as well as "a pair of rattlesnake skin thonged sandals beaded with turqoise stones" by commission.
As a master, the shoes I make have a very small, closable pocket for a couple items. I can also choose a specific quality adjective that you would like, to be listed further down. If I measure your character for the shoes, I can engrave your character's name on them and they will be scripted for your character when they wear and remove them. In time, I may also be able to place my personal hallmark on them, but I haven't heard if they're live yet. The shoes appear to weigh 2 pounds.
The patterns available to me may change depending on how fast I go through them, but at this time, I can make the following styles of shoes:
Shoes
shoes
open-toed shoes
divit-toed shoes
low-heeled shoes
high-heeled shoes
poulaines
Boots
boots
riding boots
Slippers
slippers
low chopines
dancing slippers
pointy-toed slippers
Sandals
sandals
thonged sandals
high-laced sandals
ankle-tied sandals
I can also add the following embellishments to your shoes if you so wish:
{optional item}-studded
{item}-inset
{optional item}-buttoned
{item}-laced
{optional item}-buckled
{item}-toed
{optional item}-beaded
{optional item}-lined
{optional item}-trimmed
{optional item}-strapped
{optional item}-capped
{optional item}-fringed
Pelts from a vast array of animals may be used to construct these shoes. As given by a post by GM Bernt, the following pelts may be used.
General leather (soles, uppers or trim): any skin, pelt, hide or sheepskin EXCEPT those from goblins, kobolds, orc, specters, wights, dirges and hisskra ('animal' skins, excluding somewhat sentient creatures)
Trim only: any fur, tail, mane, feathers, claw, talon, fang, knuckle or nail
Pelts skinned from creatures must be cured by the tanner, a process that may take a week or two, depending on the quality desired. Depending on the area, I may be able to obtain the needed pelts, or I may ask you to supply them. Pelts for uppers may also be purchased from the cobbling supply shops in the Landing, Cysaegir or River's Rest and are immediately available.
Skins immediately available in the different towns include, in order from lowest quality to highest quality in that town:
Landing
thrak hide
spotted leaper pelt
black boar hide
white puma hide
panther hide
dark panther pelt
Cysaegir
goat skin
sheep skin
black boar hide
leopard skin
warthog hide
tawny brindlecat hide
River's Rest
rat pelt
troll hide

antelope hide
rattlesnake skin
crocodile hide
Gems may also be used for ornamentation, but I must require that you supply them. 4 pieces of a specific gem must be supplied if you wish their description to be visible on the shoe. Gems can be used to create studded, inset, buttoned or beaded shoes.
Metal plates may also be used for ornamentation and can be purchased from weapons shops in the Landing, River's Rest, Ta'Illistim and possibly Cysaegir. Plates can be used to create buckles, toes or caps for shoes.
Plates available are as follows:
Landing and River's Rest
iron
steel
bronze
mithril
ora
imflass
mein
vultite
Ta'Illistim or Cysaegir
