I personally saw it coming, but BioWare Austin bought a license to HeroEngine. Good score for Simutronics.

That's pretty good score indeed. I'd be interested in a nice MMORPG from Bio.. some of the games I've enjoyed the most were KOTOR!!! Baldur's gate and NWN. I can only hope they would produce a sweet ass mmorpg.

After reading about some of the stuff that the engine did on mmorpg.com I'm not suprised, it sounds really good.

Here's the discussion thread on their board: http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/89523

Looks like some non Gem or DR people are looking forward to Hero's Journey.

Yea the HJ boards on mmorpg are fairly busy. Heroshall.com has some moderately populated forums as well.

The HJ official forums are the most unnessasarily cumbersome I've ever seen. I just go to hero's hall. Someone please update us all if and when they decide to make their forums more conventional. I'll be sure to check it out then. If there goal is to alienate potential fans of the game they are doing an excellent job though.

Definitely a good thing for Simutronics. This may end up giving them the publicity they'll need. To a majority of gamers and people who play MMO's, Simutronics is still widely unknown. BioWare has an extremely good reputation, though, and is very well known.

Maybe Simu does a have a clue after all

Hot shit. If this somehow makes its way into a Fallout MMORPG my decade is made.

This is pretty much the first meaningful confirmation that Simu has something to show for its years of effort. Gaming websites can write hagiographic articles until they're blue in the face and it doesn't mean jack. But when a respected company puts down cold hard cash for your work, then the game is on.

I'm sure she doesn't care, considering she is pwning away at Blizzard.

What with the recent aquisition of bioware by EA, does anyone know what that spells for Simu's HeroEngine licensing deal? I have no idea one way or another if that's good or bad for Simu that EA bought BioWare. Obviously BioWare making a hugely sucessful MMO would be good for Simu, but would EA buying them make the project backburnered or forefronted? Predictions (other than the whole Simu down in flame preditions)

I wondered the same thing when I heard the news...

EA would be incredibly fucking stupid to mess around with whatever bioware is working on... However, sadly enough, EA is good for doing just that :/

maybe KOTR online will be what SWG wasn't.

So any thought on BIO buying the HJ engine with the intent to use it on KOTOR online instead of pushing HJ?
