Heard a screaming fit from my daughter.. hysterical.. turned out a big ass spider chased her around the room (by chase it just ran really fast across the wall).

So curious to what the hell this big ass spider was I've been searching the net for the past couple hours because at first glance it looked like a recluse.

Huntsman is the clock spider. Artha posted the link recently somewhere.

Clock (http://dogz.wuffpaws.com/albums/scarry_spider/clock_legs.sized.jpg) Spider (http://x1b.xanga.com/9f6b44fa7403044885520/b30331655.jpg) is a Huntsman.

It ate the clock, and it's coming for your pets next.

Reach your arms out as far they well go and then touch each of your finger-tips together. Then bend your elbows so that your arms are in a round, circle like shape. This is the size of spiders from prehistory, according to fossils. Anything smaller than this is just a pussy (though no less fucking terrifying or evil).

The little black "spike" hairs look exactly like....

Is that the actual spider that was chasing her or did you find a picture of a similiar looking spider?

Considering the size of the thing, I'd say it's a huntsman spider. They're pretty common and not considered dangerous; however, I figure anything that big is dangerous just from the psychological angle.

I saw on TV that the daddy long-legs is the most toxic spider in the world. But because it releases such a tiny amount of venom at a time, hardly anyone ever even notices they've been bitten.

I wish I remember where I saw that. It was one of those animal networks, and the topic was spiders that day.

Edited to add: I just checked good ole google, found a couple of mythbuster type pages and wikipedia, and it turns out the above is just a myth. Interesting stuff, nonetheless.
