summoning ring abuse?

Has anyone ever heard of a ring that if worn once by the target person, will summon that person to the owner of the ring at will?

I have a friend who's being bothered, unassumingly wore the ring once to set it for ease of locating in Mahaagra's tower, and now the guy's turned wierd and uses it to summon my friend against her will?

WTF?

Yes that ring is pretty sweet. It will summon in any state, stunned, bound etc. Basically it has to be set to someone, which requires participation on the summonee's part etc. I'd just warn interact the summoner.

If the guy is doing it to transport your friend against her/his will, of course it's harrassment. Spill the names Ganalon :P how else can we assume, explain or psycho-analyze why this person is doing it?

There are, I believe, two in existance right now. Once upon a time I saw it in one of Ciston's email sales notices. More recently Windi won one aboard the Foehn's Promise in December. I thought I saw one for sale recently by someone but can't remember who. Don't think the buyer was listed.

Also, that ring doesn't work cross realms. To add to the list of who owns such a ring, I believe Iaz still owns one.

Unfortunately I don't know the ring's history in Prime, but it does have a counterpart in Plat that was used in much the same way.

As will happen time to time, a character decided that helping invaders (major demons in this case) would be a good idea. So Hubris, one of Jay's characters, was able to trick the traitor into wearing the ring. Thereafter, Hubris would randomly summon and kill him.

The player of the summoned character took it in (relatively) good grace, as both sides were careful to stay within the bountries of RP. But yeah, I can see a situation involving this item turning bad in a hurry be it in Prime or Plat.

Or at least a way for the summoned to break the bond between them and the ring so that its only used with both parties permission.
