Is there a stopping point on armor ranks for a rogue? Is hauberk enough for level 40-50 hunting? Will it be enough for even higher level hunting? I guess its my original question...and didnt I hear rumor about any armor over brig is going to effect hiding in an update or summat?

40 ranks for brig, which you should wear until your 50's.

Then 80 ranks for mbp which you should be in by your 70's.

You can stop there.

At 82 and a duct hunter my set of mbp saves my bacon, I'm fully trained in hiding and suffer no visible hiding hindrances, the only thing that might be affected at this date in time is dodging, but I cant confirm that.

Others wear chain/hauberk, I just didnt bother with wasting the coin and jumped straight from brig to mbp. I actually wore half plate in GS3 for a while, it was nice, but found that mbp pretty much offered the same benefits at less weight.

All armor of standard weight will have the same effect on encumbrance (none). Because half plate is heavier, an imflass set of half plate will provide more bonus to encumbrance than an imflass set of MBP (assuming they were made with the standard imflass modifier and not on a GM's whim, which is about a 50/50 assumption).

MBP absolutely has an effect on Dodge DS. I don't know about EBP.

Definitely don't bother with hauberk unless you have total nancy redux, which is pretty unlikely even for a hide/ambusher at that level.

That doesn't make any sense at all.

<<40 ranks for brig,>>

6 rt adder = 120 bonus = 50 + 40 + 30 = 10 ranks + 10 ranks + 10 ranks = 30 ranks.

6 rt adder = 120 bonus = 50 + 40 + 30 = 10 ranks + 10 ranks + 10 ranks = 30 ranks.

35 ranks to reduce the (MnE) magic hinderance down to it's lowest (7%).

I always thought it was 27 ranks Brig, 70 ranks MBP to train off RT penalties. Am I way off or are you overtraining to reduce something else that I am not aware of?

According to Bob my training is a little over whats required for a non-casting square (no need to address magical hindrance).

Looks like I need to do some recalculations and make some small adjustments (reductions) in my armor ranks.

Guess thats a good thing with regards to making more points available.

27 ranks and 70 ranks will be sufficient for RT penalties.

30 ranks and 80 ranks are required to reduce all physical penalties to their minimum for brig and MBP, respectively. The only places this shows up are non-CMAN maneuvers and action checks, probably. Anyone who tells you that you only need 70 ranks to wear MBP if you aren't going to cast spells is at best being incomplete and at worst lying to your face.
