Saw this on one of my car boards.

It can be done with any website. And anyone using Gabbly for this site will show up in chat. It also keeps a record as to who joined/left and what they said (not sure how long the history is). Basically allows you to surf the site and chat with people doing the same.
There is nothing to install, just check it out.
