In short, what the fuck is up with all the leg hits?

This has been going on for the last five hunts. I don't know what the bug might be.

If hitting legs every single hit for 5 hunts/10-20 creatures or so each hunt is random, I've used up my lottery luck for the next 10 lifetimes.

Apparently it's not a bug. At least I'm not hitting the same leg.

You know...

I thought I was going crazy earlier. I was stunning critters in RR for a lower trained friend of mine, and noticed every shot was a leg shot, too.

A GH said it was random. Dunno.

Were you ambushing?

ELO
07-14-2006, 08:21 PM
Nope, just open swinging.

I had been ambushing before, though, aiming for their legs.

The I got lazy and just started typing "att".

what race are you?

Stretch
07-14-2006, 08:24 PM
It's also a function of height.

When I was hunting the Glacier with one of my newbs, I noticed I always hit the legs of titans and giants.

I don't know how tall ghouls are, but if I recall your char is from a pretty short race.

ELO

Human, and I was hunting Krolvin Corsairs and the like.

Olanan
07-14-2006, 08:26 PM
No, this is a human, and most of the things in the log are 5 foot.

Good point though, I need to play the gnome more.

I'll go check on the 5 foot thing and see if it's still doing it.

Huh, never noticed it before. But I normally don't open swing, either.

Not complaining, though. Legging stuff consistently without aiming is okay in my book.

Well, the height of mobs to characters has been a semi-recent addition as Mestys (I think?) updated the mechanics.

My gnome can't hit the head/neck/eyes of a construct/Illoke to save his life.

Same thing happened to me earlier in the week. My half-elf paladin hits the legs of black forest ogres about 90% of the time, with the remaining 10%ish hitting the back/chest/arms.

Exact same thing has been happening to me at two different hunting grounds on Teras. About 90% of hits are legs which is nice because everything falls down but sucks because I'm not getting crits!

Leetahkin

Both examples are using a battle axe.
Could it be the weight of the weapon going into a downward strike, hitting the leg?

Curious to see someone using a different weapon to check the randomness.

Morningstar vs Shans, almost every hit to the leg. At this time, I'm going to assume this is not random, so it must be intentional. Ideally, if the shots are all random then why it hits 99% to legs and just 1 % to other areas is beyond me. But I'm not complaining, it's just that if this continues I may down train ambush a bit..since it's becoming more worthless.

Two falchions against skayls, thraks, wasps and pyro's...all the same. Mostly legs.

I wouldnt alter my training plan personally. This looks like a bug. A week or two down the line Warden will come in posting - wasnt working as intended, heavily weighted to legs by accident, should now be more randomized.
