I lucked out and have a hot girlfriend that plays... Not impossible but certainly not something you should really "try" for.

If you really want to be able to play video games with your girlfriend, find someone you connect with first (IE they won't run away the second you mention it), and then slowly introduce them is my suggestion. I've had a few friends who've gotten their girlfriends into WoW or Diablo or CS or other graphical games, GS has quite a barrier to start.
