Had a few questions about items in his shop, but I've never seen him around.

Anybody know where he might be found / contacted?

thanks.

Wasn't that some sort of top secret? Pfft.
He has my bow.

Heh, a lot of GM identities are well known. It's not like the Khaladon/Avantos connection has never been made on these boards before either.

Geesh, a big kahuna. Anyway to communicate with him player-to-player, ye think?

He logs on sometimes, especially early in the morning from what I hear.

He's been around quite frequently lately. He usually says hi on the amunet so if you sense him in the lands try thinkin to him. I've seen him around afternoons and some evenings too.

You could always send him an email via his GS-Khaladon@play.net address or whatever it is, if you dont ever see him in game.

And some of those items are sweet too bad the prices are way sick. :(

He has AIM on right now, if you have that.

Do you think he gained every single coin/item through pure merchanting and hunting or skinning?
I always wonder about that.

One wonders what advantages a GM character has when hunting a regular character. Thats like having a game shark for Gemstone!!!

(Avantos: Subdued) W00t! I just found a 98769784365 lb. box in the kobold village! And I opened it with my 8.0 mod crude lockpick! Fear me plz!

Avantos rolls around in a pile of rolton dung! The rolton dung dries on his amorphous shapless armor and hardens into an additional layer of armor that protects against damage from critical blows.

I also know that Khaladon has helped me several times with enchanting, and has referenced one of his enchanting characters. I wonder if his wizard has a hard time dealing with any casting or pouring failures... Ugh the possibilities one could have!

All kidding aside, I'm sure he's on the level, and the items that he's got for sale are priced with the intentions of pulling more silver out of the general economy.

I do know a story or two about a few of Andraste's characters and their uncharacteristic speed in advancing in levels and or silver. But thats just stories...

I can't get around it. Not saying he's dishonest but if I was a senior GM, I'd have a different e-bow for every day of the week.

Avantos was one of the premier merchants long before his player ever became a GM. He used to have auctions in Moot Hall or the Temple or his house almost bi-monthly. Not trying to kiss arse or anything, but I can assure you, he worked to obtain a healthy amount of items long, long before he ever got the nod from Simu. He was also a founder of Rhone Academy, i.e., good guy all-around.

On top of what the last poster said he also had a pretty good cleric/wizard/mana battery setup going and pumped out tons of enchanted items back when the system worked on mana pools.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he's legit. From what I hear it's very difficult these days to cheat by creating your own items etc. Not impossible, I'd imagine, but a lot more difficult than it used to be.

Additionally, he was one of the original infusion masters and is responsible for a great many of the 10x's found in the lands today. He made a lot of enemies amongst fellow enchanters because of the vast infusion parties he'd host.

Plus, I seem to recall asking once in a Ebon's chat he was in, whether or not he'd ever create items. He said he'd limit it to herbs and arrows simply for hassle's sake.

He's on the up and up, like people have said he used to be one of the big merchants around.. The stuff he sells are things that he's had stockpiled for some time now, for the most part.

Somehow if I were a GM I wouldn't really appreciate anyone randomly IMing me about items unless they were a friend. Just my two cents.

Please stick with merchanting discussion. Any further off topic or personal insults will be removed.

Khal/Avantos is one of the most upstanding GMs there is, I'm actually very impressed with how much integrity he has.

I'd bet a qlarge portions of my holdings that he earned everything he has, and didn't just poof it to himself. I helped hime a few times with his enchanting parties when it ran on pools. The people that helped him, he did discounted enchanting.

More importantly he was very good merchant, he got lucky and crude (in a good way), he always found a way to buy things at a good price, and sell at a profit. He is definately not someone I would question morally.

The only time I questioned him was when I entered his shop of the best items ever created, and he had a shop set up to sell them. Two tables full.
