I've heard they're fun. No idea how to train one though, any glaring mistakes?
See the posts by Anticor with regards to his warmage.
Bar none probably the best example of one I've seen.

I looked...well. I'm sure it'll get awesome at level 6 and all.
Offensive stance.
A young grass snake tries to bite you!
AS: +23 vs DS: +46 with AvD: +39 + d100 roll: +35 = +51
A clean miss.
>
You swing a claidhmore at a young grass snake!
AS: +47 vs DS: +23 with AvD: +35 + d100 roll: +40 = +99
A clean miss.
Roundtime: 5 sec.
But no matter what happens, the AS and DS just doesn't look to be high enough. Any suggestions on the bumping the AS thing?
I'm assuming 425 and 509 will be lifesavers, I'll get them first. But after that I have no idea aside from 4x gear.

Train in CM. Don't use a claid, yet. Get the highest ET you can hold.

Use a plain weapon and 902 it.

Ok here's more information:
Stats:
Depending on what lvl you plan to get to I say they need some work. Look at mine at lvl 0 (listed below) and use that as kind of a base line, tweak it accordingly for race bonus/growth.
Training:
1x weapon
1x PT til max health
Forget MIU and Scroll until later
1x Harness Power
2x Spells
2x Spell Aim
1x CM
Armor as you can, try and be in double leathers (8 ranks) before 30 though.
Don't worry about perception, lores, trading, EMC, etc until later, you're just not going to have the points early on.
Spells:
Get 401 and 902 first, then get 506, and 406, 509, 414, 909 in that order.
After you get your defensive spells go heavy into MnE spells for the boost to 425 and 430 it helps a lot. Don't go past your lvl though as the bonus stops at lvl.
If they still give you X amount of days of free respec I'd go sword and board and go rape rats and whatnot, then respec to 2h once you have some defensive spells.
Magic is going to rape you. Your physical DS will not be a problem later on but magical DS and CS will hurt. Basic tactic is run 506 and 919 non stop through a hunt, use CMANs to lower target DS and kill it.
Here's something from one of my old posts, it's lvl 63 (Anticor is currently lvl 66) but it's the best I could find:

Anticor, your Combat Maneuver training is as follows:
Skill name Mnemonic Ranks
Disarm Weapon disarm 1
Feint feint 5
Don't get my wrong I have lore, I just don't 1x in it. I don't have the points with my 1x CM. I swing in 1 second with my godendag and 3 seconds with a lance. When I get my lance swing down to 1 or 2 seconds then I will start on earth lore for the ST bonus. 2 more CM ranks and I get another disarm weapon rank w00t.
My basic hunting style is to run 506 and 919 at all times, cman feint creatures, tremor if there is a swarm, ambush the leg and ambush the head. I've got a 3 second ambush with the godendag so that's what I've been doing currently. Just swinging works wonders as well.
Currently my AS self cast is 368 and DS is in the 330s in offensive stance.
With this training you can shred through anything and everything you want to hunt. I don't care how many HPs something has when it's getting smacked with a 2h (or lance in my case) every 1-3 seconds it will die fast.

My con and agility have to be that high to max at 100 :(. These will have me...pretty good at 100 if he reaches level, but I wouldn't plan on it.

Optimized for about 50-60ish. This better?
I have the EMC/lore because of extra points and the sooner the 1 second claid/two handed sword, the better likely.
I'll probably stop at 24 ranks in both, and then 1x earth for stone fist coolness and 509.

That looks much better in my opinion. Might want to get a 4x 2h sword. You're focus is not crit killing (ala claid) but death through attrition (swinging fast bleeding often). Get all the AS boost you can, being unable to 2x CM and weapons hurts your AS so make up for it with enchant.
