Zimzum, WTF?

Sorry, I'm just angry. This is rediculous. Zimzum and I were friends long ago, and I mean good friends. I always used to cal him "Zoom, Zoom" and l ife was good. One day, out of the blue, he warns me of interaction. I ask him why, and then as him why agian later, he never answers of course. Then I go into sukaras tent the same day and end up getting an offical warning for "harassment". Well, today, life is repeating itself. This is called by some deja vu. (I'm no good with french)
Anywhere, I forgot where I was, in a merchant or something, then suddenly he mentions my nmae agian, we interact agian, and everytings cool. Before this he interacted me after me warned me and said everything was fine, but never told me why he warned me in the first place.

Now, its happening agian. He's completley ignoring me. So while in sukaras tent today, agian, he ignores me, I simply ask him, whats up, and this happens:


Zimzum is informing you that he wishes to have no further interaction with you OF ANY KIND! He desires that the two of you go your separate ways and have no further contact.


I just want to say, what the hell is this about? I dont even know why he warned me in the first place, then he interacts and talks to me agian like everythings cool, then after him ignoring me forever, he warns me agian.

I am guessing that if you take the time to take note of the actions you have done over the past, you would realize that Zimzum does not like you. Warclaidhm, next time you're in Gem, you should do an assist, talk with a GameHost and tell them that someone threatened to kill your character ON SIGHT for something OOC, something you said on a bulletin board. This way it's recorded with Simu staff. Then STAY AWAY FROM HIM IN THE GAME. Don't SAY anything to him, don't THINK to him, have NO INTERACTION within GEMSTONE with him AT ALL. That's very important and I'm stressing it because you have this tendency of following people around after they've said they want nothing to do with you. But feel free to say whatever you want about him here (Sorry Savaard but the PC is a place for people to talk about issues they have, he has just as much a right to "say someone's name" as you, I and anyone else.) The minute this schmoe approaches you in the game and starts attacking, REPORT IMMEDIATELY. Then he'll get dealt with. Probably locked out for a little bit as they look down on bringing OOC issues into the game.

There are a few people that play Zimzum. I had a run in with him once and he informed me that he wasnt the only person controlling him, hence why he can go demonic and be casting Wall Of Force again 3 months later. One person that plays him likely has a problem with you, the other does not. Seems to me Zim needs to get his act together and maybe both brains need to chat about who they like and how they act.

Eh, okay, i've only just come to the boards today. So far what i've read has been "Warclaidhm sucks. Drizzsdt is a fucktard. Atheana is an idiot". "Warclaidhm sucks" seems to be the topic of this thread because yes, he asked a stupid question, got an answer to it he didn't like, and then lashed out.

Would someone mind terribly telling me what he did to prompt all of this animosity towards him in the first place? I a) don't feel like reading every other thread that has his name occurring in it, because that's pretty much every thread on this board, and b) from this thread alone I suspect that he is probably somewhat socially retarded, or very young.

I'm not a psychiatrist, but that's what I think. I think it may be fairly obvious to those who might look past the apparent "idiocy" of what he posts, as well. The solution to everything i've seen so far on these boards has been "flame this person until he leaves, and if he doesn't, flame him some more".

Warclaidhm isn't going to change because you're calling him an idiot. It's just going to make him lash out more. So why do it? Can you really say that if you did something stupid(and everyone does stupid things, so don't pretend it's never happened), and two hundred people did nothing but call you names and harass you about it, would that make things better or worse for you? Think about it. That's my two cents.

Well, hrm. I knew him as Vorthais, but that was years ago when he was new. I'll see if I can be around him and interact with him for a while before I post anything further on this, because I have a decided lack of knowledge of the situation. Thanks for your input. Saves me a lot of reading.

I'll try my hand at explaining.

1. He scams people. Sometimes it's outright, other times it seems to be an accident, but then even when it is, he refuses to give refunds. This would otherwise be an IC problem with the character (who could be a greasy car salesman of a guy) but he takes it out of character consistantly as well.

2. He attempts to make others look bad in logs that are editted in his favor, blatantly. And an extension of this, he always thinks it's someone else's fault and they everyone is an asshole for picking on him. It is NEVER his fault.

3. He has tried to change. Several times, I believe. It has never worked, even the first couple of times when people gave him the benefit of the doubt.

4. When he says he has changed or is trying to, and it is proven that he has/is not.... he blames it on other people. In happens so consistantly, that I think it must be some sort of personality flaw.

5. You mentioned giving him constructive criticism? I'm afraid it does not work. This is a trait he shares with Atheana as well (since you asked about her too.) Many have tried and all have failed. He refuses to look inward for the sources of his problems, insisting that the fault lies with others, always. Sure, there are times when it's true, but always? No.

All together, that is why he is constantly berated on these boards. However, I will agree that the PC can be extremely harsh.. really, one of the largest groups of insensitive assholes I've ever seen. They're like a pack of rabid dogs that scent weakness and must punish it, like with this poor moron Wardoofhm. They just happen to be justified this time (in my opinion.)

Well, i've known about his scamming since he was Vorthais. I believe i'm partially to blame for it, to tell you the truth. As another soul I took him under my wing when he first came, and used to rest in the cul-de-sac. Taught him basic merchanting principals and what to say to get a better price, and we were even partners merchanting for a while. But that ended when he started scamming people. Then I left the lands for a while, came back, left again, came back, and here we are, talking about his idiocy. As for Atheana, i've never liked her character. Since before I knew these forums existed, really. She was just downright bitchy whenever my characters encountered her, so i've steered clear of her for years. Again, this is since she was young and resting in the cul-de-sac(Surprise surprise that so many bad people come from my home. Heh)

Warclaidhm is about thirty something or forty trains by now. Why would he WANT to re-roll? How many of you would want to abandon a 35+ or 40+ character at the drop of a hat because a bunch of people you never met told you to? I sure wouldn't. Especially when it seems like Warclaidhm is the only character he's got.

Maybe the guy just has social issues. Maybe he's secretly smarter than us all and laughs his ass off that he's able to impact and annoy so many people that they start WHOLE THREADS about him and dedicate their livelihoods to throwing things he wants down the well just to see him get upset.

In any case none of you are making the situation any better by talking about him all the time. Let it go and let him go. Anyone who's taken a psych 101 can tell that he's got serious social problems. And I'm fairly sure that neither you nor I are certified to help him with those problems. There's hundreds if not thousands of other people playing Gemstone. I suggest you forget Warclaidhm if you don't like him, and enjoy the other people that play more to your taste.

His attitude and the way he plays his character has angered people in the game long before it became an issue on the boards. The reason it came here was directly related to his ways in the game, in fact. This thing with him has been going on for quite a long time, and it DID start with people trying to help him, giving him the benefit of the doubt and trying to show him how to improve. It's like he turns a deaf ear and because he didn't get the answer he wanted he goes back doing his own thing again.

I have a 57 level character. If there ever came a time that she was severely disliked and nothing I did would change that fact, how is that character going to be fun for me to play? Having to prove myself all the time? Trying to change how she is and nothing that I did making it better because people hold onto the bad? I would have no hesitation to let her go and start new. Playing someone that no one respects or likes is not fun at all, and I don't see why anyone would want to hold onto that, whether they be 10 levels or 100 levels.

Whether or not Warclaidhm starts these fights or not is not the issue. He's not replying to himself for 5-15 straight pages.

I can only surmise, then, that you all enjoy the Warclaidhm bashing, are entertained by his constant whining, and find it a great hobby to upset him. And since you do you have no one to blame but yourselves for it continuing.

If no one replies, the thread will die. If no one buys his items, his sales will stop. If no one talks to him in the game, he'll end up being one very silent kid/adult/socially impaired man-child. Or he'll disappear alltogether. No one likes to do anything all alone for very long.

Well..I think I have to agree with Fire's Song. Honestly? You guys do tend to take a lot of enjoyment in bashing Warclaidhm. Do I think he deserves it? Yes. It is just REALLY really hard to ignore Warclaidhm. Somehow he is actually everywhere in the landing whining or doing something stupid or on the thought net. So we would actually have to leave the Landing to actually ignore him effectively. I mean this guy is just constantly saying or doing something moronically whacked out! It's just hard to ignore that, because you will find yourself amazed that someone can be so ignorant! It's hard to ignore someone who scams, whines, and acts dumb. After a while you get like where you just can't take it anymore and have to say something. It's basically just a natural reaction.

Lots of people try to ignore the guy. He comes at you till you HAVE to respond. People have to actually report him or WARN him. He just will not go away! How can you ignore someone who's constantly following you? He will berate you until you finally say something to him. It's insane.

No no.. I maybe worded my post incorrectly. I am not saying that I am upset or don't want to read what you all have to say. What I am saying is that if you really wanted him to just leave Gemstone and the boards, it seems to me that the most effective way to do it is to ignore him. I personally don't find it very hard to ignore someone who I dislike. And if they are following me around, bugging me all the time in game I can always warn interact and continue to report/assist until he gets locked out. Yes it's tedious but it will work eventually. That's just what I personally would do however. I understand he's a pain in the ass, I understand he's immature, and has a bad reputation. I am by no means saying he doesn't deserve what you all have said to him here on these boards. All I was doing was offering a solution if you truly want to get him to leave these boards. Eventually.. if noone responds to his threads, or his comments.. if noone speaks to him in game and only warn interacts and report/assists on him..he will do one of two things: leave Gem/boards or stop being a pain. I dont' expect or want Mods to tell people not to post on a subject, that is the purpose of the boards..I realize that.

Whoa whoa whoa. The 'You're all fuckers, as far as I can tell.' wasn't even on this thread and it was directed to the situation of longshot, Talman, and Qatherina. They were all to blame in that situation, as far as I can tell. longshot even admitted to behaving like a butthole.

You really do need to pay attention. I can't be held responsible for your offense if you take umbrage at things that are not even directed towards you.

And I did qualify my other statement, if you'll notice. Allow me to reiterate, in case your eyes blurred over those parts too: I do like PC most of the time. I find it humorous and informative. But amazingly cruel at times, when everyone feels safe behind their screens, unable to hear the sobs, or see the tears.

I still mean everything I said. PC can be immeasurably cruel and insensitive, especially to those who show weakness, be it a flaw of character or what have you. I have no respect for Warclaidhm or Atheana or Graysalin or Sean or Garr. In fact, I think I loathe at least three of them. But I think some people go way too far with the flames on them and others.

Atheana's problem is simple. She's too selfish/proud/arrogant/stuck on herself to admit when she's wrong. It's not "weak" it's not that she has this big hurdle to overcome. The issue is plain as day with her, she won't grow up. There's a difference. I don't enjoy causing anyone pain, and I do feel sympathy for people, but it stops at a point. When people don't want to help themselves, usually..or when they start lashing out at others, as she has done REPEATEDLY in the past. She's said some pretty harsh, insulting things to people in the past. Things that when they've been shoved back at her in retaliation, she had a problem with. If she knows enough to get offended when certain things are said to her, she should know enough to NOT say those things, as they ARE offensive to begin with.

Graysalin is even MORE deserving of..whatever he gets..moreso than her because he admits himself he knows she's wrong..but will defend her anyway. He's not weak, he's jaded, open, whipped, whatever.

Sean just enjoys insulting people. So he deserves whatever he gets as well.

Turn about is fair play, I've always said. Treat me right, I'll treat you the same. Treat me badly, and I'll be sure to treat you worse. Fair is fair, and I resent being referred to as "kicking someone when they're down" or some sort of bully just because you may or may not agree.

As for the Girl Scouts... I was in the local chapter for one week and then I dropped it because it was too boring. Didn't even get my uniform.
