I love Tarot Cards and sometimes like to give readings. Some day would like to collect antique ones.

I love to read books, or rather peoples theories on the afterlife, unknown, and the metaphysical world.

I love to meditate and make my life as simple and peaceful as possible and it works.

What do you like to do, that some people might find unusual?

Play Gemstone or any text based game for that matter.

I draw cartoon monsters. I've done it for around 15 yrs now and have a whole library of them.
Mainly they're comedy ones with really stupid powers but occasionally I'll create an alter-ego for a friend for fun or a version of someone I might not like.
My neice absolutely loves them so I'm teaching her to draw too. Most gifts I get her for birthdays or xmas are to encourage her to draw and express herself through fun/comedy art.
Lot's of people tell me I should do it professionaly but I haven't got a clue where I'd begin that way.
I've been through lots of further educations in this area, and although i've completed them with decent grades it didn't teach me too much I couldn't have learned myself through focused practice. I can easily draw portraits, landscapes and abstract this and that but I don't particularly enjoy it.

Now I don't have time for courses in this, and I've no idea how to progress into making it earn me some coin.
Either way I love my art, and I suppose it's slightly unusual that I create unbelievable creatures which carry so many of my own traits and those of the personalities I see around me.

I perform LARP every winter solstice to represent Clan Mcgillicutty as we defend the Priestess Arianrhod from the evil Dacian empire! I usually wear knee pads which is very out of period but that's because we perform this huge battle in an empty super wal-mart parking lot.

Xyelin, I love reading your posts because they are usually funny and you say stuff some people wouldn't dare. So it's interesting in a shocking way.

However, for some reason I feel like less of a nerd not understanding your last post. lol!

I weave chainmail as an unusual hobby. I have yet to finish a haubrek though, I'll post a picture of it when it's done (but that won't happen anytime soon I imagine)

I don't usually buy presents for people (Christmas, birthdays, other holidays, etc.). Instead I paint wooden trinket boxes. Little things, some with hinges some that have covers that slip over the bottoms. Painting is different for each one; some are a total wash of color with a random geometric design around the side, some are scenes, one girl I did a Christmas wreath painting on the top for and didn't paint any of the rest of it. I spray-shellac the entire thing, slip some color-coordinated felt inside it, and wrap it in tin foil or colored gauze with a ribbon. No stencils, I do all the painting by hand. It's a hobby that started when I was in desperate need of a spice rack and couldn't find any I liked at stores. I found a beat up used one at a garage sale, stripped it, sanded it down, painted it, and cleaned up the ancient glass spice jars that came with it. For $2 including paint and a piece of sandpaper, I got a unique kitchen spice rack that matched the colors of the walls perfectly, since I used the same paint I used for the walls. I did a few more spice racks by buying them from garage sales and renovating/restoring them, then I moved on to unfinished wooden hall tables. I did a pair of dilapidated wood and wrought-iron park benches for my yard, and even did a picnic table with benches. Then I moved on to these little trinket boxes because they're small - though far more intricate and time-consuming than anything else.

That's my unusual hobby, and I do it mostly in the wintertime, since my medicinal herb garden is my spring/summer/fall hobby.

Haven't done one in awhile, but I love paint by numbers. Not like small Age 4 and under ones, really intricate ones that will take me about 50+ hours to finsh.

Oh no! We can't have you feeling less nerdy than us, so I'll explain it for you. He plays Live Action Role Play (LARP) representing Clan McGillicutty (in a kilt, I wonder?) in an ongoing battle in the Walmart parking lot.

My weird hobbies include chandlery, jewelry making, and coloring those cheesy fuzzy velvet posters.

I've always been OCD.

I have every matchbox/hotwheels car from when I was a kid, organized by organization (police, fire dpt, ambulance, race car, station wagons, airplanes, etc).

I have a near complete set of the original starwars figurines, some wear and tear (I played), but still have all their guns and crap.

I have my cub scout uniform and badges, books and dumb shit I made.

I have my books alphabetized by author and series, ditto on DVDs, except they are by name.

My canned food in my cupboards are organized by type and label always has to face out. A friend once came over and fucked around with them, and I couldn't go to sleep that night until I'd gotten em back in order.

Yeah, sometimes I wonder why I'm still single. And then I remember the above.

I read the unofficial GS boards. :P

No, really, I collect fetish clothing -- Lip Service, L.A. is my favorite brand. Much of it, I don't even wear, but I love the way the material feels. Oddly enough, I don't collect shoes to go with it (I have 4 or 5 pair total).

Other than that, I'm fascinated with the horror-genre of writing, always have been. I love to write it and read it -- especially splatter punk and skew-reality -- and I often study and "collect" authors for different stylistic features in their work.

First... @ SHM.

Umm, lets see...lots of artisty stuff you guys know about, welding, silver-soldering, photography, painting, ceramics, etc. I can't draw though. :(

I dress up and go religiously to our local Renaissance festival when it is in town.

Target shooting. I can't shoot rifles or shotguns though, as I am right-handed but left-eye dominant.

I also collect vintage rhinestone jewelry. Its the one signle thing I collect. If it has nice gemstones but shoddy craftsmanship I usually dismantle it and use the gems to make my own creations. I like to challenge myself with finding good deals at fleamarkets and ebay so I never pay over 20 bucks for everything, I should post what I have sometime, its pretty impressive.

I forgot to add...trying to learn anything and everything about Ancient Egypt. Scott and I literally get into a wrestling match over the tv controller if something Egytpian is showing on the History or Discovery Channel.

Um. I have a mute blue "first edition" Techno lighter. It's loaded with butane but somewhere along the lines, the stupid spark plug decided to ignite much earlier than its hydrocarbon release :(

When I was a kid, I acquired from somewhere a matchbox that was decorated to look like a jewelery box or something. My mum asked me to put it in the bin (trash, for the benefit of the great unwashed) to which I replied that I couldnt as I was collecting matchboxes. I was watching TV at the time.
After that, people kept getting me really fucking obscure matchboxes "for my collection".

Next time, I just got up and put it in the bin.
