So here goes.
What are the factors one should consider as far as enchanting goes for skills.
Is there a certain level you should wait to get to before enchanting?
What exactly is the process? Do you just pour the curing potion on it, and cast at it when its ready and BLAMMO, enchanted thingamagig?
Can you get all the enchanting potions at the alchemy shop or are the higher-up ones located at special merchants?
...that's all I can come up with now since I'm a bit drunk, so I'll post some more later.

the number of enchants it's going to is the number of pours and casts it takes. In other words if you're going from 4x to 5x, it takes 5 pours and 5 casts with the appropriate temper/wait time in between casts.
405 the item to see if it's tempered or still tempering. It will also tell you how far into the enchant you are.

Also always enchant in a workshop with no non-wizards in the room. Always have your familiar with you. Always be unencumbered if possible (damned full plate enchants suck)

Familiar doesn't matter. You're only supposed to have it with you if you have a familiar already cast somewhere.

Aside from completely destroying the item I'm trying to enchant, what else bad can happen. Death?
Death, injury, blowing up items, reducing them in enchant and changing their description (to a blackened whatever).
