A warning might have been nice.
But yeah. Should've known.

Wolf spiders are pretty cool when they're carrying their young.

Ugh, I hope he took a can of Raid to it after shooting the picture.

I had some trouble killing a relatively small spider with Raid. It tried to run off and just slowly starting to curl into a ball and cease movement after a few seconds.

That thing would eat your can.

Raid + lighter.
Only way for spiders. I had to use this time honoured technique 3 times just now already.

One time, I opened the french doors to my deck, and this wolf spider ran inside the house. While I was looking for a large object to suitably trap the spawn of Satan in before I found a suitably burly male to dispose of it, my male cat came to my rescue by stepping on it and holding it in place. I found a bucket and was going to trap the spider under it, but my cat had other plans. As I approached my hero, he swooped down and quickly took the spider in his mouth. Eight little legs were wiggling between his lips. I continued my approach, thinking to make him drop the spider, when lo and behold, my fearless hero SWALLOWS THE SPIDER AND SPITS THE LEGS OUT ON THE FLOOR.

The End.

I counted ~40 babies (going by the wave of fluffy green abdomens.)

And to think we gripe about triplets

It gets easier and easier for the first few babies. After you've popped out about two dozen, you don't even feel it anymore.
