CALEDONIA, Mich. (AP) -- A couple sat by their daughter's hospital bedside for weeks after an auto accident until she came out of a coma and they realized she was not their daughter after all, but another blond-haired young woman injured in the wreck. Their own daughter, it turned out, was dead and buried.

What.. a nightmare. That's the only word I can use to describe that situation.

On the bright side, a family who thought they buried their kid is going to be happy.

Though pissed that they spent good money for a funeral.

And the countdown until the first lawsuit is filed begins ..now.I highly doubt there will be one. I believe both families identified their girls at the time of the accident. They happened to be best friends with strikingly similiar physical characteristics. No fingerprints or dental records were obtained after the accident due to the families identifying their daughters after it'd occured. It is truly horrible for the family that thought their daughter was alive, but I'm sure a relief beyond their wildest dreams for the family that buried a daughter formerly thought to be dead.

DeV, this is America, land of the ambulance chaser.

Someone somewhere will find a reason to sue someone in this case, of this i'm sure.

I can see them having a case against the truck driver, and even his company as being partly responsible for the deaths. However, suing because of the mixup just seems wrong to me for some reason.
