okay, I feel like this is a stupid question, but..
my dwarf cleric wears 4x double leather. no armor training.
can someone tell me why this happens when she's unencumbered? how much armor training do I need to fix it?

you will always experience penalties and difficulties taking off/putting on/standing/maneuvering period if you are not trained for your armor. I would suggest looking at the play.net website for further information on what training is needed for each armor type.

i thought clerics didn't need to train for double leather? i mean, i don't get any spell hindrance - is it different?

8 ranks for physical hinderance, universal.

Well there's still some physical penalties associated with any armor above light torso leathers. Need like 8 ranks of armor training and you should be fine.

Stand up in stance offensive, stance has a hidden penalty/bonus in the stand up roll and makes a huge difference.
