Life seriously sucks right now. I was almost getting ready for work tonight when I noticed smoke starting to pour into my kitchen. It seems someone thought it was funny to set the basement of my appartment building on fire.
After calling 911 and letting them know my building was on fire, I tried to get my damn cats out too. I was able to catch two of the three and get them out safely but I thought the third one died because he ran off to hide. Luckily, he was found unhurt under the bathtub.


So right now I'm homeless until I can get back inside my building to see what kind of damage was done. Yay, my life is nothing but flowers and sunshine.

I'm really sorry that happened to you, Praefection. Do the authorities have any idea who might have set the fire, and if it was purposeful or accidental? Whatever, it has to be really frustrating for you. At least, you can be thankful that you and your cats are safe and uninjured. In the end, that's the most important thing.

O'm pretty sure it was arson. I was downstairs MAYBE 30 mins before to toss my laundry in the washer and didn't see/smell anything. When I was outside talking to the other people who lived there I was told a few days ago someone had set a dumpster outside on fire, too.

I know it's just my appartment and I'm thankful myself and the cats came out okay but it's frustrating as hell to think someone could have done this.

No on the renter's insurance. I'll be stopping by there in about an hour once the sun comes up to see how bad things are. Then I'll try to figure out where I go from there. It's not everyday my building catches on fire.

Me too! They're not too happy about being relocated to a friend's house. They've done nothing but hide under her bed and hiss at me.
