Ok, I've been hearing so much about 50 mil suits of armors that flare up and annihalte everyone in a 6 room radius and swords that cost over 900 mil that once swung will have a 20% chance of crashing the server... My question is this, how can a lowly warrior legitimately (not buying silvers for dollars or merchant whoring constantly) make silvers. Is there a manual for making legit money or can someone give me a detailed explanation how?

Skinning works.

The way I used to make money was reselling items.

This was many years ago, but I bought a few sets of forest green brigandine for less than 500k (I want to say about 250k a pop), as well as a few other items that sell for ridiculous prices now. Seems though like all the merchants these days are pay events, so I don't know if this is a valid avenue anymore.

Could also make decent bank skinning striped warcats and firecats. I don't know about prices now-a-days.

Find places that no one hunts and hunt the shit out of them.

That's how I got started. Buy somethin small and sell it for more. Watch the boards for good deals. If you're on the net in Landing and someone is buying something, go check playershops.com and see if it's there. If the person offers you more than it is at playershops, go buy it in the shop and sell it to them for their offer.

Lockpicking, healing, skinning are also other ways of making money. My empath makes tons of bank on the Rift and if you go to Teras, people tip heavy there too. Pump up first aid and survival for skinning and make moolahs.

I never thought you could actually make money hunting until I left the Landing. Skinning is a nice bonus too.

Skinning is very dependable. With 1x each FA and Survival you should be able get most like-level pelts by the time you title.

My first good skinning area was fire rats/fire cats, just be sure to carry an Undisease item.

Change up your hunting areas - you'd be surprised how much some of the low level areas can churn out. At one point I had a little character making 100k - 150k an hour in lesser burrow orcs until it dried back up.

Used to make that in 20 minutes in fire mages.

Dunno of Shan are still good for it or not but I farmed them for coin.
Plane 1 of the rift is the richest and simplest place in game for this kind of thing.

I dont know if youd call it legitimate, but there was always underhunting. Pick an area thats an utter bastard for like levellers (minotaurs, anwyn were perfect examples) and brutalize it when the critters cant touch you anymore (or at least your offense is enough to drop them fast). Youll churn lots of critters quickly because your kill rate is high and hopefully it will be good loot since the area is under utilized.

I used to find that the more difficult an area was to access (darkstone, broken lands) the better chance you had of finding a good loot area.

As a warrior, I was certain to keep my perception/disarm around 1x per level. I found at that level I could almost always spot a trap so that I didnt incinerate myself bashing it - unfortunately I tended to be a little liberal with what I could actually disarm myself hah hah. Bashing open your own boxes combined with skinning is good income.

These suggestions are all well and good, if you're already an established character.

For the new guy, there's a few ways to start up your initial bankroll.

First, like most people have said, skin anything and everything you can. Rat pelts only sell for 10-20 silver per pelt, but it's an easy and quick way to accumulate silver.

Second, pick up everything you can that will sell at the pawn/gem/furrier. Brown zircons, empty boxes, flails, whatever.

Third, look in the pawnshops for jewelry. You'll usually find it on the misc or magic table. If you see some, buy it, run it to the gemshop, and sell it there. The gem shop will pay you just about double for the price you paid.

Using these three methods, you should've stacked up nice enough bankroll by level 10 to put you into 4x equipment right off of the bat.

Good luck with it. I personally feel that earning your own way without relying on cash transactions makes the game a lot more rewarding.

The treasure system is rotationally 'refreshed' in hunting areas. If you're not getting decent gem drops in a certain area, switch to an alternate area. The biggest indicator is when you start getting high end gem drops and or large coin drops from a single kill in a specific area. You have to be fairly fast though, because others will also notice the 'refresh' and populate that same area until it is farmed out. Then you have to wait until it refreshes, which is normally a random event unless a GM happens to drop a hint to a friend, which I've seen it happen first hand.

I've found that the chances of getting anything high end as a drop in the landing area is not as frequent as hunting elsewhere. My best results were always achieved in Ta'Vaalor and Ta'Illistim with any consistency.

Having a side profession other than just hunting also helps. If your character has a skill (healing, skinning, imbedding/enchanting/imbuing, raising, lockpicking, loresinging/purifying) then enhance those attributes so you can handle that activity when you're resting/not hunting.

If you choose to try the resale market for items. You'll need to be in the landing area usually so you can watch the amunet and see what people are asking for their items. Browse playershops.com and become familiar with the market pricing on base level items then wait for someone dumping inventory on the amunet, pick it up cheap and either stick it in a shop or wait for opportune times (thurs, fri evenings, sat/sun days) and sell it when the population is up.

My 2 cents.

Good luck.

Oh, and my motto is to never leave a locked box lying on the ground, never leave a gem on the ground, and never leave anything that you think could sell in the pawnshop on the ground when hunting. Sell everything you pick up.

Skinning works.

Made millions off of selling skins.

Collecting items that are left on the ground it all adds up.
