Anyone know the best race for a twohanded ambushing(not from hiding) warrior?

Giantkin are good because they're quite hard to get encumbered and have lots of health. The strength bonus isn't really a big deal for warriors.

Elves are good because they're fast as the dickens and they don't have that awful stench you'll get with halflings or gnomes. They're also nancies though.

Humans aren't as strong as giantkin or as fast as elves, but they have 0 penalties. Humans ftw.

A giant with good dexterity and agility makes for a good ambusher.

i'm surprised half krolvin weren't even mentioned. besides being hated more than dark elves in elanthia, they are awesome at making a square. Pluses to str, con, AND agi give them a lot for swinging. that +10 agi you'll have more than a giantman will be nice, and you'll have more hitpoints than a human. also, they get free heavy cold crit padding.

Half elves are the only people who have a prayer of swinging the heaviest weapons with 5 second rts (lances).

Halflings and pure Elves can as well. I don't think Half-elves have the bonuses for it.

As far as Half-Krolvin go........ugh.

I've actually had alot of fun playing a Half-Krol, and a Warrior seems like a very good fit. The bark and growl commands fit nicely with a berserker.

My DE could swing a claidh easily in 5. He could even Ambush in 6.

I was talking about lances, and I'm pretty sure half eves were the only race that could swing them in 5 seconds, but that may have been pre GS4. I'll check when I get home from work.

I swing a lance in 3seconds. 2second RT at the cap.
