So how do you fix your sleeping pattern/habits after you've messed them up?

I've been going to sleep at about 6am for the last few days and I really need to get back into a normal sleeping pattern.

I try to stay up all night long so I'll be tired at a normal hour, and I made it until about 11am a few days ago, but I got so tired I just had to go to sleep, telling myself I'll only sleep for a few hours and get up. So I slept for 4 hours, getting up at 4pm and then didn't become tired again until about 4am. Ugh!

Yesterday I got up at 3pm, I'm tired now at 5:45 am... So that means I won't get up until 1pm to 3pm tomorrow.

You have to stay awake all day and go to bed at a reasonable hour in the evening.

I get messed up like that when I do night shifts. Basically, you need to just suck it up and spend all day tired until a normal sleep time. I mean sleep for a couple of hours now if you're really tired, but the only way to get back into a normal pattern is to stay awake until your normal bed time.

After four night shifts, il be home at 8.30 am, usually sleep till 10am then get up like a normal day, go to bed at a normal time that night and I'm sorted. The longer you leave it, the harder it is for your body to adjust to a new pattern. I read some research in one of my Nursing journals that said 4 days of altered sleep patterns is enough to change your body clock completely. Get it sorted!

What they said. I do the same thing when getting over jetlag. Get a little nap so you can function, then just go to bed at the normal time.
