Level 50 OHE Voln warrior.
Gonna mess with fixskills while I have one trade out brawling for throwing. Also going to re-bond with something a little more fun to fly back to me...say a flaring toporok (handaxe base).
Any opinions or warnings?
Thanks.
Hurling? Going to vomit on the opponent? Not sure it will damage them... but it might stun/incapacitate them for some round time or cause them to hurl also.

Hurling begets hurling? Bad Monty Python skit?
Not quite what I meant, but thanks!
Let's see if I've read enough hurling posts to post something coherent.
Even a bonded weapon takes a few seconds before flying back to your hand, right?
If you're sniping, a returning weapon knocks you out of hiding, right? My hurler relies heavily on staying in hiding for protection. A lot of hurling warriors prefer to stand in the open, though.
If you drop brawling, you'll be disarmed briefly everytime you attack.
Dropping brawling, while being without a weapon in offensive is potentially dangerous.
If you pay attention to what you're doing and time everything right while you're hunting, you should be fine at avoiding those moments that you're disarmed. If you still rely heavily on swinging, and only use your hurling for impressing-people-ooh-look-at-me-flare type purposes, you should be fine.
If you think that you're going to want to stand there and use hurling as your means of hunting, I'd reconsider dropping brawling.

B2 makes some good points. Maybe you should consider dropping edged instead of brawling. At least then, you could also keep your Voln-fu abilities as an attack method as well.

I think hurling is one of those things that only makes sense if you have an auto-return item, or self-generating weapon quiver. If you don't have either of those, it's not worth it.

You'll be fine, defense-wise. The drop from weapon-in-hand stance o to disarmed stance o DS is surprisingly small, and DS doesn't really matter for warriors anyway. If you do something dumb like hunt a creature that flares, then you'll have issues. Hurling can be very effective, and bonding only sweetens the deal. I wouldn't rely on it as a primary means of advancement, but you could.

How common are the self-generating weapon quivers? And what base weapons exist like this?

might as well experiment, given that I can always fixskills out of it.

I'm pretty sure SP is referring to bandoliers, and they're not very common. I think somewhere between a dozen and 20, predominantly handaxes. In any event, they're not necessary for hurling.

Thalior's sheath also exists which spawned broadswords I believe.

Um.
Is this a guaranteed 100% return with rank 5 of WBOND? Eh...
At each rank, your weapon gains a special ability that will randomly activate in combat. See CMAN BOND for a list of these abilities. Upon mastery, your weapon will also gain the ability to attempt to return to your hand if it disarmed or hurled.

My bonded weapon has returned every time. If someone picks it up before it returns, it still returns to me.

It will return to you after 5 seconds provided you're in the same room. If someone snatches up your disarmed weapon and run to another room, I think you're screwed.

The old Onar sheath was altered into some piece of shit thing. I think there's about 35 or so between returners and bandoliers. There's a few hammers, a few spears, couple of chakrams, and mostly axes, and one maul as far as the bandoliers go. For a better list, Ponzz keeps track of all that.

Or if they put it in a container.
