OK so I am reading it wrong or it isnt explaining it well enough.

Take 513 for example.

This spell will give the caster/target a bonus of +20 to their spell Attack Strength (AS) and a penalty of -40 to their physical AS. The caster/target will receive a +1 bonus to their spell AS for every two Major Elemental spell ranks over 13, capped at the caster's level.

For example, if the caster has 23 Major Elemental spell ranks, the spell AS bonus will be +25.

The duration for 513 Elemental Focus is significantly shorter when cast at a target.

Now, say you have a lvl 100 wizard. Does the spell cap at 100 ranks of 500's sphere, or cap at +100 bonus?

Edited due to a stupid original post.

And.. the way that reads, the cap would be +100, until a level cap is moved up or removed.

But you can go over 101 ranks in Major sphere if you wanted... So would those other ranks add more bonus?

No, because it's capped at the caster's level. +100 would be the maximum, even if you did something as crippling to your character as doubling in the MjE circle.

So your saying the cap is on the spell ranks, and then you get whatever the bonus is.. The bonus is not the thing being capped.

Therefore, I could go for 120 major spell ranks, and only 100 would be used in the calculation of the bonus?

The capped at level refers to ranks. If you're level 26, you only get benefit from 26 MjE ranks (26 total bonus). If you're level 100, you only get benefit from 100 MjE ranks (63 total bonus).

Thanks guys.... Also, why would it be a bad idea to go over 1x in major sphere?

I don't think it is. It allows you to leech more mana, and adds to your CS with Immolation, it also adds padding to your ability to charge items. I'm pretty sure my path will end up with 125 MjE ranks by cap, but I'm not at home to show it. Damn working on Mother's Day.

It's all depends on what you want to tradeoff for overtraining in one circle, the DS for each maxes at 99-101 ranks.
