It would take a little more than $50 to turn my friends in. Only a little, though.

Turn them in for what? Smoking? A picture doesn't prove what substance it is. I can't see a picture of me smoking "something" holding up in court as drug use. I mean if that's the case what happens if you take a picture of someone with a needle are they automatically doing smack or could they be a diabetic?

The University doesn't need as much evidence as the cops, I doubt.

Plus, they closed the field, the University can fuck them over for trespassing if they want, too.

Exactly what I was saying.. however I'm not sure what it would take to violate school policy and land you in front of a judicial review on campus. Especially since they posted warnings etc prior.

Court of law?? Not a fucking chance.

It's on University property and there are signs up stating that there is video/photographic surveillance. I'm pretty sure there's no violation of privacy at all.

I think the average American is caught on thirty seperate video cameras, on average, per day.

I would assume that the rights to post incriminating evidence of such heinous /sarcasm misdemenours would need to be done in conjunction with a law agency.

I am sure they got the O.K. from campus police, though

The rolleyes emoticon is broken.

Where do they think they are? Mexico?

That aside, I doubt they got together at 4:20 on 4/20 to smoke cloves and take water hits from their bongs.

The campus-issued flyers also misspelled 'surveillance' and 'judicial.' So much for higher education.

There are signs explicitly telling everyone there that they would get in trouble.

Stop being a fucking idiot.

Approximately 40 signs were posted on all sides of the field advising that the field was closed and that video and photographic survellience was going to be used on and around the field that day. A photo of one of the signs is shown to the right.

p.s. - There are 150 pictures on that page. I doubt that's even close to being the majority of attendees. Dumb.

Stop being a fucking idiot.

I'll stop being a fucking idiot when you stop being a derogatory name for a 102-pound individual of Italian origin who spikes their hair constantly and wears more than one chain + uses brand name deodorent wannabe while simultaneously posting on a GemStone IV-related message board :)

And more on subject, it's not fucking idiocy so sayeth circular arguement. It's a good thing to see such stark photographic evidence of actual crowd control being commenced by university "police" broken rolleyes emoticon .

If the UoC was conscious enough to put up that many signs due to the hint of what they probably thought would unfold, they should not have hosted such an event in the first place and ceased to fucking ruin Culture Shock. I am sure that if a respectable dean's list 4.00 GPA student has been/is targetted, it has the possibility of becoming a real shitfest.

If I ever post 40 red-taped warning posters to remind college kids to follow an M.O. without having the vas deferens to make a physical show of such determination, remind me to sever my leg with a circular saw so that I can get a really good angle at kicking myself in the teeth.

Conclusively,

Stanley Burrell.

Looking at UC Boulder campus map, the "field" is pretty much the equivalent of a quad ... or open "general" ground surrounded by buildings. In this case residence halls.

Students use it for rallies, protests ... general bullshit between classes. It looks like they had planned a smoke out on the field and the campus responded by attempting to close it. UIUC attempts the same thing year after year when ever the students have their "let's all smoke pot in public on this day" event.

In the case of UC Boulder ... no one had their rights violated in any way. The University did it's best to prevent a smoke out and now they're trying to bust anyone they can.

State run universities have their own police ... and university police have the same jurisdiction and power that the state police do ... They're generally all fucktards though.

The chance of any student being charged with criminal anything ... zip. University staff were present and did not attempt to remove anyone. The state will throw out any trespassing charges. The chance of any student being charged with possession ... zip. Pictures prove nothing and there were no arresting or attending officers, nothing can be proved.

The chance for ANY criminal charge at all ... zip. The only thing the University can do is attempt to fine, punish, or expel students from the university. Chances are, just as any other attempt like this, it won't work because of the attending university staff that did nothing. They can do it, but they'll get their ass' taken to court for it.

Would I turn anyone in? No one I considered a friend, and no one I was indifferent about ... unless I were desperate for cash. Thankfully my college years and scrounging for cash are both behind me. I would turn in the frat boys, any sorority bitches who wasted my time in class by opening her mouths, anyone I remembered as being a shitty driver and overall nuisance with their car by attempting to park, noisy and annoying neighbors ... and anyone who insisted on wearing sandals every day.

When I was in school there was something very similar to this. University took photos from a student riot that occurred and offered some measily reward to anyone who would identify people in the pictures.

It had horrible results. Very few people were willing to snitch.
