I made this exact same post on the official boards here:

Here is an exact copy of the post (please comment there too if you're with me on this being some BS):
I hate to bring up old topics... but if there's a problem, there's a problem. I thought I would go test out some new weapons with my TWC rogue and here is what happened:
H>am croc
You leap from hiding to attack!
You swing a subtly gilded vultite miner's axe at a speckled tangerine crocodile!
AS: +123 vs DS: +68 with AvD: +29 + d100 roll: +73 = +157
... and hit for 29 points of damage!
You ripped a chunk out of the tangerine crocodile's right leg with that one.
The tangerine crocodile is stunned!
You swing a heavy-bladed silver vultite kris at a speckled tangerine crocodile!
AS: +122 vs DS: +46 with AvD: +13 + d100 roll: +59 = +148
... and hit for 7 points of damage!
Glancing blow to the tangerine crocodile's right leg!
Roundtime: 6 sec.
R>assess croc
The tangerine crocodile is medium in size and about one foot high in its current state.
The crocodile is too easy for the likes of you!
HR>am crab
A glittering crystal crab is entirely too small for you to properly aim your attack!
You leap from hiding to attack!
R>assess crab
The crystal crab is small in size and about one foot high in its current state.
The crab is too easy for the likes of you!
Now I know this is not unusual for many people... but consider his profile:
Race: Burghal Gnome Gender: Male
He appears to be advanced in years and diminutive.
He has brooding light hazel eyes and oily skin.
He has raggedly cut, greasy brown hair with a large bald spot.
He has an unshaven face, a crooked nose and a missing tooth.
Nevermind how fugly this guy is... The way I see it, if he's not small enough to ambush these crabs, what is? and why is the head of the crocodile possible to ambush for him and the head of the crab is not? Aren't they in the same place? Before I thought that lower size limits on your ambushing target could be okay (In the case of those wasps for example...), but if it causes things like this, it's nothing but trouble.
I would've noticed this way earlier if it weren't for the fact that my ambushers are on giants right now.
