I am aware of the fact that the Wavedancer docked at the Ta'Nalfein port. I know no one was allowed off the boat, but does anyone have logs of what you could see OUTSIDE the boat towards the town? ANY information would be extremely helpful.
I admit I don't log the time. This is what I happen to have, though. I'm missing several of what could be seen over the balcony...
From somewhere outside, you hear a member of the ship's crew calling out, "Ta'Nalfein! Approach to Port! All hands at the ready!"
The subtle motion of the wave-rocked ship shifts underfoot. The Wavedancer is slowing, evidently approaching Ta'Nalfein, and curving gradually to the left.
A faint impact shivers through the floor, and Wavedancer ceases her forward motion. The ship must have docked at Ta'Nalfein -- a theory confirmed as the Captain calls outside, "Ta'Nalfein! Prepare to unload! Passengers are NOT permitted to disembark."
A fenvaok rises quickly from somewhere upon the Wavedancer's deck. For a moment, it is silhouetted against the white sails of another ship, but then it vanishes on its way toward the docks and walls of Ta'Nalfein.
Beneath the haughty eye of an aging Nalfein overseer, young dockworkers hasten to carry goods from ship to shore. None of the boxes are large, but all are so marvelously begemmed and gilded that they qualify as treasures in their own right, regardless of what their contents may be.
Trails of azure-hued mana sparkle across the masts of a nearby ship. Although its deck is deserted, two elves sit high in its rigging, working the spells that will help keep it safe in the event of storms or hurricanes.
Tugged by a seaside wind, ribbons and skirts flutter as a group of Nalfein commoners bid a tearful goodbye to the sailors of a large merchant vessel. The captain leans against his proud ship's railing and watches with a patient air as kisses and embraces are hurriedly exchanged.

One thing that I remember from the cruise (and I'm darn glad I auto-log) was being able to look at the railings (and past) to see what was going on around the ship. Here's what we saw while we were in port at Ta'Nalfein..
>l rail
Crafted from fine red oak, the ship's rail has been coated with clear lacquer and polished to a mirror sheen by the crew of the Wavedancer. After admiring the railing, you notice the wider world...
The city of Ta'Nalfein rises to the west like a terraced cliff of grey marble. Statues, frescoes, and banners adorn the graceful buildings, and hundreds of glimmering lanterns atop many rooftop gardens cast the entire city in dancing shadows.

Was that all you could see from the ship? At least the look from the railing gives me a good idea of how the city is built, thanks.

Unless there was more of the city on one of the quests, I think that was all that was viewable, yes. Of course, at the time we pulled in, I was doing something else, so I wasn't paying as much attention as I probably could have been. :/
Lanterns burning in uncurtained windows and suspended above rooftop gardens cause the tall, grey city of Ta'Nalfein to look like a sandcastle covered in fireflies.
Moonlight sparkles brilliantly off the dark cerulean waters in Ta'Nalfein's wide harbor.
Those are the only other ones I could find in my logs.
