Don’t make fun of my little brother. Shame on you.

But seriously, go Cheetah! Hope my life is as good when I’m 74.

Can diabetics drink?

Diabetics shouldn't drink, since any kind of liquor contains quite a bit of sugar.

That said, I really must have one of Cheetah's pictures! Thanks for posting the link, Kuyuk! :)

!?
Most hard liquors have no sugars and no carbs.

That's because the sugar is turned to alcohol during the distillation process.

It is possible for diabetics to drink alcoholic beverages in moderation if their diabetes is under good control; however, they must be very careful not to overdo it and to balance their intake through dietary adjustments that make up for the extra caloric intake.

Diabetics shouldn't consume any stimulants or depressants.

First stimulants like nicotine/caffeine constrict the blood vessels, and diabetics already have severe problems with vessel constriction.

Alcohol is very bad for us because it produces first an immense spike in blood sugar concentration (which can be fatal much easier than for you normal folks). Once that's taken care of with insulin, the blood glucose concentration level can drop dramatically, (resulting in hypoglycemia, resulting in coma and perhaps death), however, since alcohol is processed through the liver, becoming sugar, it works (after sugar levels have been normalized a second time) to raise blood sugar slowly over time at a constant pace that insulin honestly can't keep up with.

Drinking and diabetes is a huge mistake, even casually. Long term alcohol use and diabetes results in death.

edited to add: Alcohol is first a stimulant then a depressent.
