Wearing double chain (asg 14) and planning to move up to asg 15 or 16. Is wearing augmented chain better than adding pieces to my double chain? I have a padded (vs. crush?) burgonet (head and neck) I'd like to add if it makes sense. Also, have a padded (vs. slash) aventail. If I wear them both, will they work together or would one prevail? Also, how would it affect my asg?

As alway, my thanks for any assistance...Pops

As a Ranger, you'd need 110 ranks of armor for 12% hinderance for Hauberk. I stopped at AsG 15, personally.

ASG 15 is the way to go in my opinion. Best compromise between good AvD and TD help without the massive point expendeture needed for hauberk.

Stunseed and Drew..thanks. So, how much armor training for asg 15? Also, is piecemeal armor combo equivalent to one-piece augmented chain?

Thanks, Pops

ASG 15 has an 8 second RT modifier and hinderance of 9 in both MnS and Ranger spell circles. So, to train off the RT modifier, 60 ranks or Armor Use is needed...to train down the spell hinderance (to the minumum of 9%), 70 ranks is needed.
