"No longer will criminals be allowed to roam free in our fair city!" the Magistrate declared upon receiving her new title.

Cysaegir now has a fully functional justice system within its town limits. The arched opening near the pool in town will lead you to the Reformatory, and any incurred fines should be paid to the clerk in Rhyaesdid Hall.

The Aelotoi have a town? How did worthless bug-people get a town when Dark Elves still can't get shit?

Dark Elves are lame, that's why. And Cysaegir has been around for a while.

Dark Elves get 0% Bias in the town, which is the best in Elanthia. Sell your junk there if you are a Dark Elf. It is also a very lovely town...there is simply nothing to hunt there, so it stands mostly empty.

Yah, the town itself is really well done. Lots of nicely described areas with some neato things to explore. As for Dark Elves..well the town itself was given to the Aelotoi by the Elven Houses (if you read the documentation it explains that entire thing) as compensation for the plight of the Aelotoi people at the hands of the Elves (unknowingly of course). I guess the Elves don't feel they 'owe' anything to Darkies. :p

Cysaegir was one of the last towns they put in when it became apparent that the game was getting so large that expansion was useless to the player base. I dont think it was about Aleotoi being favored over DE's. In fact, some of the prominent players were hoping that New Ta'Faendryl never gets put to text because of the dissappointment they felt with TI and TV.

I see their point. The game is pretty well suited to making a small backwater outpost like the Landing. But its hard to put the sheer amount of rooms for a major capital to give it the right "feel".

As an aside, I think it must have been rather dissappointing for the GMs who put so much work into Cysaegir that it is largely abandoned all the time.

There are several reasons why Cysaegir is largely abandoned.

1) No hunting areas without having to take a trip down Whistler's Pass near to Ta'Illistim.

2) No lockers, and people don't want to have to carry their crap around all the time.

3) No homes or shops. (although this is admittedly the least of the issues by FAR)

There has been indication by Bernt and a few others on the boards that when cobbling and other alternate experience skills come out, we will possibly see an interest in Cysaegir once more. Right now, it's mainly just used by the occassional couple wishing to 'get away from it all' or as a place for DE's to sell their things and save a great deal of money in the process.

 ooooh struck a nerve.

On topic: I agree, Cysaegir is beautiful. I haven't gotten around to getting my lil bard there yet. She's having too much fun on teras currently. Maybe in a couple trains....

My dark elf pretty much permenantly lives in Cysaegir, although it wasn't for the lack of bias in selling things. She likes sleeping in trees and being by herself. Cysaegir was the perfect answer! She'll get pissed if they expand and more people start ruining her paradise.

If there were things to hunt nearby, the town would be populated.

I happen to think Ta'Illistim is the most beautifully written town in the game. When wandering about, the difference between T'I and Solhaven is abundant.

Ta'Illistim would rock if it was all north/south/east/west. That diagonal crap makes it one of the worst cities in the game.

If they opened player shops in Cysaegir, I would be all over that place.

And here I was waiting for the post that read:

"Who cares?!?!?"

Ebondale came closest.

I guess with Jolena, and a few others praises, I should visit the town. I just never got around to it. I would also expect some of the new hunting areas to be around Cysaegir, but I could be wrong.

Cysaegir sucks. Ta'illistim is only hard to navigate if you're a fucking retard.

It's not that things are hard to find in Illy, it's that they're pointlessly, stupidly inconvenient for what's supposed to be an enlightened city of high-falutin' tree-huggers. Euclid actually vomitted with rage when he saw the design for Ta'Illistim, no joke.
