As gamers know, Blizzard is a company that has... a sense of humor.
Has anyone seen the publications that have been coming out for April Fools in which Blizzard is saying that as a new race for the expansion the Alliance is getting wisps?
They say that the wisps are going to be able to explode and drain mana from people and have 'permanent death'.
Blood Elves are lookin' pretty sweet, though. They have some nice Blood Elf wallpapers up on worldofwarcraft.com right now.
Anyone have any intel on which race the Alliance is actually going to get? I had heard someone before mention Pandaren, but nothing more on that.

It's the draenei.

Draenei... from Wikipedia:
The Draenei are one of the three primary races native to Draenor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draenor) (the others being the Orcs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orc_%28Warcraft%29) and the Ogres (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ogres)). They once populated the planet heavily, but were slaughtered by the Orcs shortly after their corruption by the Warlock Gul'dan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gul%27dan). A small number of Draenei survived, using a recessive cloaking (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invisibility) ability. They were thought to be extinct, yet Illidan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illidan) and his forces discovered and liberated one of the last surviving Draenei villages among the wastes of what is now known as Outland. The Draenei are known for being stealthy spies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spies) and assassins (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassins) as their warriors can Shadowmeld at all times of day, even while moving. They are currently ruled by Akama (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akama), the Elder Sage, and are allied with Illidan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illidan)'s Naga (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naga_%28Warcraft%29) and Blood Elves (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_Elves). The Draenei are consumed by an unquenchable bloodlust whenever they know Orcs are near. A few Draenei were led through the portal by a few unknown leaders with the hopes of finding a new life, and have settled in The Swamp Of Sorrows. Unfortunately, most of them were driven mad due to homesickness, and attack all on sight. There are a few, led by Magtoor, that remember their noble roots and survive on in the swamp separate of their mad brothers. The mad Draenei are called "The Lost Ones" in memory of their old homeworld.
They are a speculative candidate for the new Alliance race to be added in the World of Warcraft (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_of_Warcraft) Expansion: The Burning Crusade (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/burningcrusade/) [1] (http://www.partingvisions.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=60&mode=&order=0&thold=0). However, according to Blizzard, this is pure speculation, [2] (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-general&t=6437554&p=1&tmp=1#post6437554) as they have not revealed the new Alliance race to websites, magazines, or other media sources. Some point out that the Draenei are allied with the Blood Elves under Illidan, and use this as a basis that the Draenei would not work against their allies. This counter-argument was debunked at BlizzCon when it was revealed that the Blood Elves who are the Player Characters will be Blood Elves who were not with Kael'Thas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kael%27Thas). So if a group of Draenei were added as the new Alliance race, they would not feel any loyalty to the Horde (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horde_%28Warcraft%29)'s Blood Elves.

Ugly mother fuckers.
The alliance already has ugly-ass gnomes and dwarves. They don't need another ugly-ass race.

I'm anxiously awaiting Patch 1.11.0 (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-dungeons&t=433375&p=1&tmp=1#post433375)

Upon research, a lot of people think a qualifying reason for using the Draenei and Blood Elves are to actually balance out the pretty-ugly ratio...
Give Horde a "pretty" race and Alliance an "ugly" one.
EDIT: Not that I know anything, I've never touched the game :)

But there's no way that Draenei will have the billions of unique combinations that Wisps do with color and facial hair.

Draenei as the new alliance race has been propogated by, and only by, the player base since the announcement of blood elves as the new horde race.
It could be a good guess, it could be leaked info, or it could all be BS.
Personally another alliance race with shadowmeld would be a bit much. Another midget race for the alliance would be a bit much. The fucking midgets in BGs allow for too many exploits as it is.
Personally, I think it's going to be a type of troll or undead.

Hell yes.

I think it was stated somewhere by a blizzard employee that the new race is currently in game but will be remodeled when they become playable. I read a long post that put forth a pretty strong case for ogres. So my guess is either ogres or draeni as they are the only two races in the game currently that have strong connections to Outland.
